A disk rollback. I use Proxmox and ZFS. So, I snapshot the VM (usually) before making any changes. So, if I want to roll it back, it would rollback the QCOW2 image of the virtual disk.
Ah, yeah, not possible in my case since I have a default install of ubuntu in my main pc, so I have to find a solution or probably reinstall everything šŸ™ƒ

Seems the issue was nouveau. Each time I purged nvidia drivers I saw it in the output of lshw -C display
But just some minutes ago it clicked with me what it actually was, haha. So I looked to disabled it and after a few reboots seems everything is working fine, nvidia-smi properly shows the graphics cards and my monitors work again :P

The update to 24.04 must have re-enabled it, since I remember disabling it the first time I installed the nvidia drivers.

I spoke too soon, it crashed again...
Right after I installed Ubuntu-desktop.

Went into recovery mode to uninstall it and kept crashing. I read some logs and rebooted, it worked properly... Changed nothing and rebooted and crashed again.
Rebooted and now it works.

I don't know what's happening šŸ˜•

@scifisurfer:matrix.orgscifisurferGot a question for the channel. I ran a combination of Fedora 40 KDE, then 41 KDE, for about a year in total. Towards the end of that time, basically about two weeks ago, I needed to access some straight-up audio CDs. Anyhow, the TL;DR of it is Fedora did not appear to recognize my optical drive. Neither lspci nor lsblk saw it with or without a disc inserted. The box is nothing special: HP Envy TE01-0014, stock internal SATA-interfaced optical drive. I should hasten to add a few other details: 1. This was an in-place upgrade from 40-41; 2. I downloaded the F41 KDE iso, wrote it to a flash drive, booted from that, and nothing changed; 3. I have since nuke-n-paved my system and went back to Linux Mint 22 and immediately had full access to the drive.12:05:22
@scifisurfer:matrix.orgscifisurferI'd really like to go back, and I'll happily reinstall Fedora 41 to go through any specific TS steps.12:07:31

So far I've had no issues with fedora's bazzite and hardware. Only thing missing is my laptop fingerprint sensor, the driver doesn't exist in linux at all. Have it on a laptop from 2015 and one that's from 2022.
