1. sure thing I'll collect some resources.
2. I'm trying to figure things out with this. I'm going to have an intro video on the front page explaining terms, but i think a FAQ is also in order
3. I do have some ideas, but the full design hasn't been drawn out.

Shenanigan Bet Page
For this page I prefer people to jvisualize the abstract concepts. For story 1 for example, it should be clear

  • Why am I using ethereum?
  • What does my money have to do with Energy/Ethereum?
  • What does the app do with my money (betting, donating, bookkeeping)

That would be great - the more information the better.! tbh I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around what you're trying to communicate in these Stories... possibly just because I don't bet on sports or trade in crypto, but in any case I'd love to have more information to go off of.

1. sure thing I'll collect some resources.

One thing that's jumping out to me is it seems like you have a lot of Shenanigan-specific terminology - do you think a glossary of some kind would be helpful? Energy=Ethereum, etc.

2. I'm trying to figure things out with this. I'm going to have an intro video on the front page explaining terms, but i think a FAQ is also in order

Also, do you have a user interface in mind for people placing bets/exchanging energy? If so, would you like that to show up in the Stories illustrations, or would you prefer the illustrations focus more on helping people visualize the more abstract parts of the Shenanigan system?

3. I do have some ideas, but the full design hasn't been drawn out.

@a_blanchard-reed:matrix.orga_blanchard-reedThanks for sending! This helps a lot (I think) - so you're using ETH as a currency for betting, and then you're able to use a bit of the ETH that people wager to run the software? Please correct me if I'm wrong, there'll probably be a pretty steep learning curve with this. Also, could you explain the positive/negative distinction a little bit more from Story 1? Is positive like picking the underdog scenario, and negative is picking the favorite scenario?03:13:31

yes, exactly. it takes ETH to make computations on the ethereum network. So if I want to add your bet to the blockchain it will cost a bit of ETH. (I think average right now is ~.50 cents)

Also, could you explain the positive/negative distinction a little bit more from Story 1? Is positive like picking the underdog scenario, and negative is picking the favorite scenario?

A positive bet would be taking the side ot the iOn. It's saying that the person will achieve the goal.

Say for example:

Say for example:

  • Jamie is an iOn . She loves to run. She has a goal to beat her mile time of 4:55
  • Jamie posts a wager on Shenanigan
    Jamie's wager looks like this:
    • Positive
      • I beat my time of 4:55
      • I set a new World Record
    • Negative

  • Leroy is skeptical of Jamies talent and bets option 3. We say he is negatively charged becasuse he's against Jamie.

Does that make sense? A key distinction to makle is that both positive and negative particles are necessary. Theyt arent bad or good, just different ends of the same stick. WIthout both sides playing the game is automatically canceled and Shenanigan moves on to the next one
