yes, exactly. it takes ETH to make computations on the ethereum network. So if I want to add your bet to the blockchain it will cost a bit of ETH. (I think average right now is ~.50 cents per transaction). This is called gas. Bets will actually be made in Dai, which is a subset of ETH stapled to the US dollar
Example
Jamie's wager looks like this:
Does that make sense? A key distinction to makle is that both positive and negative particles are necessary. Theyt arent bad or good, just different ends of the same stick. WIthout both sides playing the game is automatically canceled and Shenanigan moves on to the next one | 08:54:01 |

a_blanchard-reed | That does make sense. So when athletes are setting up their wager scenario, there's an incentive for them to make a bet that will get both positive and negative wagers... Are athletes allowed to be the only person on the positive side or do they need to get someone to join them? Also, just occurred to me, how are you regulating this to make sure there's no funny business and people are actually accomplishing their goals? | 14:19:00 |
a_blanchard-reed | Also, seems like there's something weird in the chart where your responses get copied three or four times... Do you know what's causing that? | 14:19:46 |
Victor | Shenanigan |
Hmm i only see my responses once? That's the beauty of Ethereum. I can set up an automated system to meditate these bets. I can tell you more if you want to here about how I plan on doing it. | 16:00:13 |
Victor | Shenanigan | It could be my edits or be quoting you? | 16:01:09 |
Victor | Shenanigan | Do you have an iphone? | 16:43:18 |
a_blanchard-reed | Nope. Android - do you think that's what causing it? It's that way on my Mac too though | 16:56:02 |
Victor | Shenanigan | ah thats why. the android client is under a revamp | 19:38:07 |
Victor | Shenanigan | download rioitX | 19:38:19 |
Victor | Shenanigan | its in beta but its way better | 19:38:28 |

a_blanchard-reed | Okay I'll look into that. Taking it back to Story 1, who are you trying to communicate to? Potential betters, athletes, or both? Also, just to make sure I've got the story straight, this is about how the game works and how your wagers are used to fuel that game - right? | 23:12:16 |

Victor | Shenanigan | It should be geared toward the general public. People who are looking at the product and what we do. This is to present them information. Then let them decide which aspect of the app they're interested in, better or athlete. I | 08:15:06 |
Victor | Shenanigan | This will most likely be peoples first introduction to the app and crypto so, the visual should relay the basic concepts. | 08:49:14 |
Victor | Shenanigan | There is a community, there is an exchange of money into a singular pot, there is one iOn athlete | 08:50:21 |
Victor | Shenanigan | Etc | 08:50:43 |
a_blanchard-reed | Okay. That should be what I need to at least get started. Thanks for walking me through everything! | 14:50:54 |
Victor | Shenanigan | no problem let . me know how things r going and send over some ideas | 16:02:29 |

a_blanchard-reed | Okay, so here's a basic framework I think might work for these stories to help people understand the concepts a little easier. Let me know your thoughts: Shenanigan is the arcade Ethereum is the game tokens Scenarios are individual games Betting sides are players (each game has two players, a positive and a negative) Athletes are the in-game characters Winnings are the tickets | 18:06:58 |

Victor | Shenanigan | Hmmm yeah I like this. Makes a lot of sense. Can't wait to see how your plans to draw it. | 05:16:42 |
Victor | Shenanigan | One thing. Scenarios are going to be called wagers | 05:17:20 |
Victor | Shenanigan | And technically the winnings are also ethereum. So maybe have an image of the game token on the ticket? | 05:19:31 |

a_blanchard-reed | Cool I should have some sketches ready this weekend - just so I know for later when we're getting these finalized, would you prefer a more hand-drawn cartoony look or more vector illustration? If you have some examples of a visual style you really like I'd be interested to see | 16:52:44 |
Victor | Shenanigan | honestly do what you think looks best with the logo/website design | 18:33:26 |
Victor | Shenanigan | I can tell you that I dont want pixelated | 18:33:40 |

a_blanchard-reed | oh like 8 bit? noted. for now I think I'll focus on figuring out what the images will be and then figure out the style when we get to that point. | 16:09:09 |
