bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>Also worth noting that I am running into issues deploying deps to a local network. The deploy_deps scripts never seems to get into the ENS stuff and I can’t easily figure out why that is happening. Network is rpc , artifacts, web3 and owner are all set correctly… Hmmm | 11:18:39 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>After messing with some things, I still can’t get it beyond that step and into deploying ENS etc on my local devnet. So, I was like f**k it, let me just try ropsten and see where we get to… First issue: Error: project ID is required OK, this is Infura doing it’s thing. Fixed that in node_modules/@aragon/os/truffle-config.js (not my fav, but hey, quick and dirty FTW). But the deploy script still silently fails
Have made sure there is Ropsten ETH in that account etc. So not sure where to go from here | 11:32:58 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>seems like this line const ENS = artifacts.require('ENS') is causing me issues… Where is it supposed to be fetching this artifact from? https://github.com/aragon/dao-templates/blob/9886bba4c0a201bf056f44d751373e5d804e1b90/kits/agp1/scripts/deploy_agp1.js#L53 | 11:42:04 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>@cryptowanderer It should be fetching it from the @aragon/os package; we may have to add the ENS contract as an import in the contracts/ dir | 11:46:19 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>yeah, I see no ENS in there atm | 11:46:40 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>😢 | 11:46:57 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>on no, in @aragon/os/contracts there is an ens dir | 11:47:16 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>on no, in @aragon/os/contracts there is an ens dir | 11:47:31 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>Yeah, deploying the AGP1 template now may be a bit of a pain since lots has obviously moved / improved since that time. Let me get a refresher on on how our ropsten deployment looks, and deploy the template for you | 11:48:19 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>sorry to cause admin 😞 | 11:49:17 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>No worries, we just don’t use ropsten that much so it’s a once-in-a-while thing | 11:51:06 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>sure. you can see the ENS Gabi told me to use, and the STT address we use (a minime Status Test Token) in the block quoted above if need be 👍 | 11:51:53 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>How quickly would you like to play with this? I can’t directly interact with our ropsten deployment yet (waiting on some permissions), but if you’re OK with using a very old version of everything (8 months old), we can create an organization now and it’ll just get upgraded when we do update the deployment. | 11:56:18 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>yeah, keen to create an org now if possible to see what it can do, how things works. Don’t really care about old code on ropsten, only mainnet 😜 | 11:58:12 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>will also give me an opportunity to understand what needs to be done (if anything) whenever you update on mainnet too, so that’s also a plus. | 11:59:13 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>There shouldn’t be anything to do to upgrade for now; it’ll just be the frontend having more features :) | 12:26:25 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>@cryptowanderer Template contract deployed on ropsten: https://ropsten.etherscan.io/address/0x41c8e08b90d7664098a3620e496d3d34e926c65a#writeContract
You can create the org through etherscan if you like; just let me know when you send the tx and I can help fetch the org address | 13:13:32 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>The organization should be viewable through https://aragon.ropsten.aragonpm.com/#/, but you can tell we haven’t checked up on this in a while because it has a certificate issue 😅 | 13:16:03 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>thanks @sohkai 💚 What is the _multisig address required there? Is it the daoFactory, or any random multisig? | 13:33:31 |
bridge-bot | <cryptowanderer>thanks @sohkai 💚 What is the _multisig address required there? Can it be any random multisig or is there some requirement I haven’t seen yet ? | 13:38:35 |
bridge-bot | <sohkai>(Moved to DM, but it’s just the root owner of the organization so it can be any account) | 14:45:46 |

bridge-bot | <david.llop>Hi there! I’ve been working in a new pattern to subscribe dynamically to events in the background script, needed for the Committees app. You can check out the technical post here: https://forum.aragon.org/t/dynamic-subscription-to-events-in-the-background-script/1886 | 09:09:40 |

bridge-bot | <aaron> @gabi You Rock and so does buidler! being able to spin up more apps and seed the DAO with activity will be very very usefull. I cant wait! | 11:07:01 |
bridge-bot | <aaron>totally unrelated, one thing i find really annoying (a little) is when you click on assign permission on a role, the client should know i want to assign a permission on that app. instead it behaves like the new permission button in the top right. really isnt that much of a big deal, its only two extra clicks but still | 11:10:33 |
bridge-bot | <victor.porton>IPFS accessed as http://localhost:8080/ipfs/ behaves very strangely: It cannot read assets such as the Voting app. My own app (deployed on localhost) also does not load. What is this? I think, it’s an IPFS bug for the ipfs NPM package. Is there any workaround? | 21:12:39 |
