18:06:53@thessaly:matrix.orgthessaly ryan.fobel: regarding JitSi integration with Riot, were you referring to https://jitsi.riot.im/?
18:07:29@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalyTo all, we're planning to start GOSH community calls next month, so any insight on tools is appreciated!
18:11:18@jo_africarxiv:matrix.orgjo_africarxivZoom seems to work fine for many communities, or? probably not open enoigh.. Otherwise jitsi or appear.in?
18:12:23@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalyyup, Zoom works fine but has a 40' limit for free version, appear.in has a limit of participants for the same reason
18:13:08@jo_africarxiv:matrix.orgjo_africarxivanything longer than 40 mins is torture, lol ;)
18:13:20@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalyone could argue that xD
18:15:27@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalyI like JitSi a lot and up to now it always worked for me... Ryan mentioned there was a Riot-JitSi integration, if anyone tried it, would be great to share if it works well
18:15:49@saadcaffeine:matrix.orgsaadcaffeineJitsi works well for me we use it regularly. It’s also what Snowden used for speaking at ccc #justSaying
18:17:34@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalywe have a winner :P

18:55:02@julianstirling:matrix.orgjulianstirlingWe use jit.si for calls everyweek, works really well from Linux and Android as well as Windoze and mac.

22:15:02@headroom:matrix.orgxoseNo doubt jitsi. Also you can stream the signal directly to a youtube livestream 🎈

17:14:27@thessaly:matrix.orgthessalyHey all, we'll kick off the community calls next March 7th. This is the proposed schema (anything could be improved? let me know). Purpose: GOSH community call is a place to meet people working on open science hardware, present new projects, discuss obstacles, learn new things, share our thoughts and support each other on our daily OScHw-related activities. Frequency: Monthly, starting March 7th 11am CEST Tool: https://jitsi.riot.im/ ; https://etherpad.net/ Duration: 1h Tentative agenda: a) Introductions/newcomers (5') b) Featured OScHw project of the month (15') c) Topic discussion (20') d) Learning something new by someone in GOSH (15') e) Closing (5') I have some ideas for c), suggestions are welcome! Candidates for b) and d)?? Say hi :)

Is the time going to stay the same each month? I realize it's difficult to find a time that works for everyone, but 11am CET is the middle of the night in the Americas. I am unlikely to make anything at that time ;)
19:31:28@ryanfobel:matrix.orgryan.fobelLove this idea though!
