@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudThat’s a full time job :p especially if the user base explodes18:55:28
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudPerhaps you should think about getting full time help and a standardized policy list?18:56:23
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudMight be a bit early.. but something to think about19:00:26
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmt I'm talking for homeserver moderation, not the room one. Well, some rooms needs moderation too, but thats another story :]
I don't expect such explosions for homeservers actually.
19:01:58
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudHave you been following modular?19:02:26
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudIt’s an official project to do just that:p homeservers as a service19:02:47
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudYeah rooms would be fun /s how many do we have so far? 50k?19:03:58
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmt I read the news about it few days ago, it's a nice thing. The question is: how much small servers will become big ones? The abuse prevention is not intended to clear all the content in my opinion, it's just for handling popular/visible one. Well, it's also a question of homeserver sorting criteria, that I have no idea about currently.

For rooms, it's 8.5k of public ones.
19:09:41
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrud I guess as long as non popular ones float into obscurity.. filtering is not as important. 19:11:52
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudI guess I’m convinced until something breaks, goes wrong :p19:21:31
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmtIt would be fine, at least until the release I'd guess :) Anyway, any improvements would be better than the current version.19:26:32
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudSo on a different topic: if I want to help the bot register on my captcha server19:36:57
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org I'm uncertain on the "abusive" Homeserver point. The humourless Communist ones who attacked this project and the dev' proved themselves, IMO, to be very shitty netizens, running incursion into tech' or help rooms, just to troll. They advocated attacking/trolling/DDoSing another Homeserver, even advocating weaponizing this project's 'bot as an an attack vehicle. Meanwhile the other Homeserver they marked, while having views polarly opposite of Communism and some LARPy members, expects their members to be on their best behaviour, a.k.a. good netizens, while in civic, civil rooms in the open Federation. 19:43:15
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmt>So on a different topic: if I want to help the bot register on my captcha server I think it would be some sort of "manual registration" request button, in case the owner validated his homeserver.19:43:41
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org As far as porn, IDK. Any MXID could post porn. The question is if they do so where inappropriate. That is a room level issue. But Homeservers could deactivate abusive MXIDs. Unwillingness, after fair warning, to deactivate a MXID spamming crap and abuse all over, might be a "magic test" item. 19:47:15
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org And I meant legal porn. Anyone posting reprehensible crap, i.e. C.P. or snuff, raise the alarm immediately in #Regulators:matrix.org and if not unfounded, cooperating Mod's should unilaterally ban the MXID and try to seek it's deactivation. 19:50:34
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudThe goal is not to moderate other people’s servers. Simply our own index of their servers. And again, we are talking about the abusive stuff that you yourself just said is reprehensible and should be reported to the matrix.org staff19:57:53
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org "our"? Are you involved with this project?!?! 20:03:35
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmtOh, I've lost the point actually. What is the main criteria for homeserver filtration? From my understanging, we filter homeservers based on its public rooms. If homeserver has a lot of unappropriate rooms, is should be filtered. I don't see how we can filter homeservers by their members actually :/ (but that's an idea to think about)20:03:40
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org "Appropriate" might just as well be Politically Correct, like what the hypocrite attackers of this project like. 20:05:13
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudSame. I was talking about homeserver scale filtration based on publicly listed rooms/activities of said homeserver that attempt to damage the operations of this project.20:05:18
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.orgSay hello to Google® censorship.20:05:55
@colonelkrud:matrix.colonelkrud.comcolonelkrudI seem to be failing to understand your comments. You admit that there is content that should be reported to moderators.. yet reject the idea of moderating?20:06:27
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org NSFW is one filter that may be bypassed by the user's choice. Also do so with whatever. 20:07:12
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org

Because, other than reprehensible crap like Child Porn' or snuff, the ones I mention do so in OTHER PEOPLE'S rooms, where not appropriate. Containing your dysfunction in your own rooms is another matter entirely!!!

@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org

Neither New Vector nor the new Matrix(.)org Foundation represent not control the whole ecosystem. Individual room Mod's moderate their own rooms and Homeserver Dev'Op's decide if MXID deactivation is warranted.

But censoring an independant list is another matter entirely. I say maybe allow filtering NSFW and non-Politically Correct content, and let the user decide. But do not put political spin on it; as you are pushing a P.C. agenda.

20:15:28
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmt Well, if we should filter homeservers by their members behaviour, I don't know, it's strange. Matrixstats is all about the rooms, not their members. It's logical, but its a question of accumulating and moderating the whole community in result. 20:15:31
@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.orga13xmt: If crybullies like the ones who attacked you and this project have more time to scream loudly and crybully you, moreso than good netizens, maybe a filter for NSFW, and one for non-PC #nonPC .20:17:59
* @MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org@MilkManzJourDaddy:matrix.org : shrugs.20:18:12
@a13xmt:matrix.orga13xmtI don't see why homeservers should be filtered based on their members behaviour. The project is not about opinions, it's about the homeservers and rooms. I mean, it's the whole network catalog, not the subpart of the network catalog. We can alter porn and remove illegal stuff, but should we alter anything else? I've lost the point about purposes of such filtration, really. If you want to make whitelist community, I doubt that it would work regardless of the filtration quality.21:03:04
