10:47:00@staking4all:matrix.orgshez | staking4allhow do you check if you missed blocks? We have registered as a new validtaor https://kava.mintscan.io/validators/kavavaloper15kwwzz908wl0qv4w66a5ee70kytpmfc9khvah6 However do not see blocks made yet. So want to make sure I am not missing. But uptime shows as 100%
19:19:42@patricknetherlands:matrix.orgpatricknetherlandsHi all,  Let me quickly introduce myself, I am working for Ankr and we are interested in offering hosting Kava nodes via our platform. Some of you might have heard of Ankr, for those who didn't we offer fast, easy and no-code node deployment for very attractive prices compared to more centralised counterparts like AWS, Azure. We have a proven track record with a number of prominent blockchain companies, for example LTO, Matic, Binance, Harmony. I would like to get in contact with someone from the team to jointly explore possibilities. Looking forward to hearing from you, Patrick Ankr.com | The Blockchain Cloud Infrastructure for Web 3.0

Is testnet active or not?
Hard to tell. I mean there are testnet nodes up and running, I'm running one myself, but there's really not anything you can do on it. It worked for a while but last I tried (amittedly a few weeks ago) the REST server wasn't working. I keep meaning to try again but other events have taken up my time. I'll try again soon to execute a few things on testnet and I guess post here if it works.

16:31:20@rhuairahrighairidh:matrix.orgrhuairahrighairidh@jaygaga We're doing a quieter launch for testnet-5000. The aim is to test out the new modules on a live chain more than it is to test the distributed launch process again. So the initial gentx set is restricted, but as normal, anyone can join as a validator after launch.

16:40:08@chainode:matrix.org@chainode:matrix.orgSo do you guys have any clear plan with testnet 4k and 5k? Does 4k still remain active? Makes sense that we still keep our nodes active on 4k? I think as validators and supporters of kava, we should get/have more transparency.
16:41:16@chainode:matrix.org@chainode:matrix.orgAlso what does quieter mean, invitation based?
18:33:48@rhuairahrighairidh:matrix.orgrhuairahrighairidh

didn’t mean to confuse things, to answer your questions:

  • it's ok to shutdown testnet-4000 nodes
  • testnet-5000 is a minor release, this version won’t be run on mainnet. There is no requirement to be a validator on 5000.
  • the “quiet" launch is just to make the launch process simpler for our developers. Testnets for releases will have a larger validator set.
  • anyone can join 5000 after launch
18:46:19@chainode:matrix.org@chainode:matrix.orgok, thank you for the update. One last question -> will testnet 5000 still be incentivized? I've read something on telegram but curious if this is still the case. If yes, do you plan to release more updates regarding this?
19:08:44@rhuairahrighairidh:matrix.orgrhuairahrighairidhtestnet-5000 won’t be incentivized, it’s just for testing out the latest code
20:14:22@chainode:matrix.org@chainode:matrix.orgunderstood, thanks!
