It is recommended to use Type=exec for long-running services, as it ensures that process setup errors (e.g. errors such as a missing service executable, or missing user) are properly tracked.
perhaps that is where my issue lies | 08:24:33 |
jjj333_p (any pronouns) | though it seems same enough to simple | 08:25:34 |
jjj333_p (any pronouns) | fuck it we ball | 08:25:37 |

jokeyrhyme | Ooof, LLM outputs still need to be double-checked by humans, you can't trust them to be correct | 08:50:53 |
jokeyrhyme | In reply to @jjj333:pain.agency the weird part is it does it when run by the system What is the exact command you use (without anything confidential) to restart the service? I'm now as curious as you are about why that's somehow has a different result than when automatically launched during boot :) | 09:06:33 |

I don't think WorkingDirectory= is real, either And does that ExecStart= line work if you execute it directly (as the joseph user)? I just want to double-check that you actually do use snap to run Node.js projects normally | 09:20:27 |

jjj333_p (any pronouns) | the snap part isnt ai generated | 10:24:41 |
jjj333_p (any pronouns) | the exact command i use to start the bot from the cmdline of my vps is snap run node index.js when its already in the dir ~/spam-police | 10:25:18 |

jjj333_p (any pronouns) | In reply to @joepie91:pixie.town please do not use LLMs and if you absolutely must, at least do not ask others to fix its output i doubt this is an issue with the systemd file, and i did read documentation to try to verify it myself | 10:27:37 |
joepie91 🏳️🌈 | jjj333_p (any pronouns): doesn't matter. LLMs routinely consistently misinformation (because they only reproduce patterns and have no understanding of anything) and it is disrespectful of other people's time to basically use a garbage generator where you don't even understand yourself why it says what it says, and then ask other people to figure it out for you. LLMs are already built on labour exploitation by themselves, do not make it worse. | 10:48:11 |

jjj333_p (any pronouns) | well its a config ive used for many different things, and is actually repurposed from other things i use without issue. the reason i have asked in the node room is i highly doubt its an issue on the systemd side | 10:51:59 |
jjj333_p (any pronouns) | does node's stdout behave differently or something | 10:52:59 |
