Dallas W | Hi team, just redeployed a gen1 node, getting error on the screen “pkcs11-tool —read-object -slot o

Charles Witte | Hello. I have a node thats been down for quite some time do to a time lapse in the onsite support. Its been long enough for it to be autoremoved by the system. Can someone help me understand what this means for that node? In particular if the node comes back online at a later date, will it auto join the pool of nodes again? | 15:56:58 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | The node was removed from the registry and the node allowance for the node operator has been increased again. This means that you can now redeploy the node as a completely new node and you should be all good! | 16:25:39 |
Charles Witte | Thank you very much. We are still lacking the support but I can reach out again before we bring it back up to verify this is still in place. Thanks again!! | 16:30:29 |

Malith Hatanachchige | Hi We will be proceeding with the IPv6 Migration as mentioned in the previous thread thus causing Colombo 1 Datacenter to be offline for a couple of hours. Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | 06:50:58 |
Dallas W | Thx Saša Tomić [DFINITY] I have a node at same situation, Will redeploy it soon | 06:55:13 |

Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | I actually don't see this node in the registry. You may have already removed it? | 12:49:05 |
Malith Hatanachchige | whats the commandn to see the node ? | 12:49:50 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Yea I did run the command once | 12:49:57 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | You can check in the dashboard - e.g. https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/node/mswad-oq7wj-5r4yy-b5qoy-cmv7z-wzfb3-ktn6l-rcnrz-mni2f-lsys6-wqe | 12:50:25 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | or you can use ic-admin --nns-url https://ic0.app get-node <node-id> | 12:50:46 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Nevermind, I think its working it shows
(null : null) on the output | 12:52:22 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Cool! will keep you posted, btw I made a few changes to make sure the commands runs, will update wiki after Im done | 12:53:23 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Saša Tomić [DFINITY]: Has the Gen2 HSM onboard process changed ? | 13:20:33 |

Malith Hatanachchige | Gen? hardware
should be onboarded using
the Gen? Mode Depolyment method
Please
redeploy using

Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | I don't think anything changed here. Do you have your private key on the USB drive? The message says that the private key is not found on the USB. | 13:36:06 |
Malith Hatanachchige | No, we are using the HSM key right, so its not necessary ? | 13:36:48 |

Legacy method | 13:38:29 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | Hmm I see. Possibly the HSM deployments are now allowed for gen1 only. eero [DFINITY] andrewbattat [DFINITY] would you know? | 13:39:17 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Thats what, there is no migration process mentioned though | 13:39:58 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | I agree, there should be a migration process.
| 13:44:10 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Okay, Ill try reinstalling once more, I will reconnect the OLD IPS back but there will be only 4 nodes instead of 6. Because I removed 2. Would this a problem till the other get back with an answer about the migration process ? | 13:49:48 |
Saša Tomić [DFINITY] | So 4 of the the old IPs are not deleted/reinstalled. 2 of the old IPs are wiped so you can't bring them back online - did I get it right?
It should not be a problem to bring back the machines with the old IPs back online, assuming that they are still operational. | 13:55:41 |
Malith Hatanachchige | No they are not, Whipped. That makes sense. Ill bring them back online. | 14:06:51 |
Malith Hatanachchige | Wait, I tried the third time, and I still got the warning but after 5mins of wating | 14:14:40 |
