@roy=7d:matrix.xseth.nlRoy kokkelkorenHave any of you experience with running DBs over glusterfs. I've used it for a while now and a get a lot of corrupted DBs and was wondering what I could do to fix!17:32:03
@fiveseven:matrix.orgDale Gribblecorrupted seems like the opposite intended effect17:32:37
@fiveseven:matrix.orgDale GribbleI can't imagine how slow it must be though17:33:10
@fiveseven:matrix.orgDale Gribbleeven just ls in a small directory for me takes 20+ seconds with gluster17:33:28
@fiveseven:matrix.orgDale Gribblepretty useless17:33:39

Well I use it for my local docker swarm setup on rapsberry pi's and for that it works pretty well. It's not the fastest implementation but most setups works pretty well. Even hosting my own matrix server is snappy enough. The only problem is that my DB just get corrupted from time to time, which is quite annoying. If recently changed the mandotory-locks option to optimal:
https://docs.gluster.org/en/latest/Administrator-Guide/Mandatory-Locks/ , following the advice on Reddit:

@roy=7d:matrix.xseth.nlRoy kokkelkorenbut I was wondering if anyone has more experience or suggestions to fix this issue17:39:10

@aryak:projectsegfau.lt@aryak:projectsegfau.ltHi, I installed and setup glusterfs (replica 2) on two debian 11 servers following https://docs.gluster.org/en/v3/Quick-Start-Guide/Quickstart , but the files i create in the brick dir on either server arent synced. gluster volume sync doesnt help either.. Any clue what I am doing wrong?03:32:02

@aryak:projectsegfau.lt@aryak:projectsegfau.ltthis is the output i get from gluster volume info on both servers03:33:59
@aryak:projectsegfau.lt@aryak:projectsegfau.ltwhen i mount -t glusterfs server2.domain:gv0 /mnt on server1 and add files i only see the files on server 1 and files i create in /mnt exist only on server1's /opt/gluster/brck103:36:03
@aryak:projectsegfau.lt@aryak:projectsegfau.ltok so if i mount -t glusterfs server1.domain:gv0 /mnt on server2 it gets synced03:37:31
@aryak:projectsegfau.lt@aryak:projectsegfau.ltbut not if i do it on server 103:37:39

You shouldn't access brick directly but only through a mount point.
