hi all, has anyone ever seen an SRX somehow lose it's ssh host keys? I had to reboot my home router the other day and discovered today that they seem to be missing according to the logs:

Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key
Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key
Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ed25519_key
Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: Disabling protocol version 2. Could not load host key
Jun 27 17:10:30 node1 sshd[8254]: sshd: no hostkeys available -- exiting.

@protocall7:matrix.orgprotocall7I can regenerate them easily enough, just curious if anyone's seen this before, not quite sure what would cause them to go missing on a previously stable machine00:28:27

Have you tried rebooting it?, I’ve seen similar issues with an SRX210, which was fixed with a reboot
22:52:17
@protocall7:matrix.orgprotocall7I did, I ultimately just followed a KB article to recreate a missing dir in /var/db, then regenerated the keys. I was more curious as to what would cause such things to happen.23:06:53

@laserallan:matrix.orglaserallan I know that there were some issues with it in the last if you weren’t running an upgraded Freebsd box, but the cause of it I haven’t been able to determine 11:19:44
@laserallan:matrix.orglaserallanI’ve had some funny issues with my SRX410011:19:59
@laserallan:matrix.orglaserallanApparently the micron SSDs dies after around 2.74 years of uptime unless you upgrade the firmware on then11:20:38

It's actually pretty common sadly, Cisco has the same problem with the Nexus 9000 line afaik
