this isn't directly helping you but whenever you have to build something that requires installing packages to build I would recommend building in a container such as distrobox
05:25:37
@chocolateloverraj:matrix.orgRajas Paranjpethat way you don't add temporary packages to your main system05:25:55
@chocolateloverraj:matrix.orgRajas Paranjpeor mess up your main system trying to install stuff05:26:04
@chocolateloverraj:matrix.orgRajas Paranjpe and it also helps that you can run a debian or ubuntu container because often instructions provide apt install commands but not dnf install commands 05:26:31

Hi! I'm trying to run the latest binary release (0.3.1 from GitHub) on my Linux machine (x64, wayland, nvidia-535 official drivers). Unfortunately it crashes right at the initalization. Does anyone have some ideas or maybe also encountered this problem and has a solution?

No, it's a bug in wgpu
22:59:42
@erik:michelson.euErikAh okay. Is there already some fix in wgpu upstream so that I could just compile it on my own?23:00:32
@panekj:matrix.orgpjNo23:00:46
@erik:michelson.euErikOkay, sad but then I'll probably wait some time and then try again. Thanks for the information! :)23:01:35
@erik:michelson.euErikWell the JetBrains IDEs are great, no question. For greater projects I'm using them too. However I thought that lapce maybe could replace my VSCode usage for small everyday file operations.23:02:22
@panekj:matrix.orgpj you can probably run lapce with FLOEM_FORCE_TINY_SKIA=1 23:03:06
