Satania | In reply to @austin:tchncs.de not really. asra.gr's list is automatic, and a few others explicitly promote hate speech, so... but i'll reduce the wait to, say, 2 weeks (so come back on may 5). if you want to advertise then i suppose you can announce it on fedi I have ran my homeserver now for a while and the setup has been stable so far with no major problems so I would like to be added to the matrix homeserver list. Is there any form I should use to publish it or is that something that you do manually? | 17:46:54 |
Satania | As I wrote above the homeserver is https://fx45.in | 17:47:42 |
jlj_ [nfld.uk] | In reply to @admin:fx45.in As I wrote above the homeserver is https://fx45.in What was the deal with that ralph account on your HS? Joined bloody everywhere! :D | 20:28:47 |
Satania | In reply to @jlj:matrix.org What was the deal with that ralph account on your HS? Joined bloody everywhere! :D Seems like it is a spam account. I have had a couple just start joining hundreds of rooms probably trying to use up all the servers resources. | 20:43:03 |

Austin Huang | In reply to @admin:fx45.in I have ran my homeserver now for a while and the setup has been stable so far with no major problems so I would like to be added to the matrix homeserver list. Is there any form I should use to publish it or is that something that you do manually? your directory doesn't check out, don't even think about getting listed | 00:59:34 |
Cat | oh that is spicy | 01:01:27 |
Satania | In reply to @austin:tchncs.de your directory doesn't check out, don't even think about getting listed Do you really moderate which homeservers are listed based upon the content they allow? | 01:01:29 |
Cat | I mean this is just a great look. Also please note that View just means its World Readable in this case not that my homeserver is to be found in the rooms. | 01:02:46 |
Cat | Download image.png | 01:02:48 |
Cat | That is not the kind of stuff you want to find in the room directory of a public homeserver wanting to be listed on the somewhat reputable list | 01:03:10 |
@farribeiro:matrix.org | https://matrixrooms.info ? | 01:03:23 |
Cat | Especially as literally the only types of rooms | 01:03:25 |
Cat | In reply to @farribeiro:matrix.org https://matrixrooms.info ? of what relevance is matrixrooms.info? | 01:05:11 |
Cat | in this context i actually do not understand | 01:05:19 |
@farribeiro:matrix.org | a global directory listing | 01:05:43 |
Cat | Yes | 01:06:12 |
Cat | But the topic was what you would be finding if you searched that homeservers room directory | 01:06:38 |
Cat | that is part of why one might pick a homeserver | 01:07:04 |
Cat | is the room directory that is local of a decent quality | 01:07:13 |
Cat | in the spacebar project we have homeservers ACL banned for what their room directories contain | 01:08:19 |
Cat | and what the denisens of the servers are up to | 01:08:27 |
Satania | In reply to @cat:feline.support That is not the kind of stuff you want to find in the room directory of a public homeserver wanting to be listed on the somewhat reputable list Feels like the goal of a homeserver listing is to provide reputable homeservers, not content moderation. But it is their list I guess. | 01:12:08 |
Cat | Content moderation is considered part of being reputable | 01:26:31 |
