Artifacts doesn't presently support ingesting NuGet symbol packages and so the task is used to publish the generated PDB files into the symbols service directly.

| i401 | Alright found it. If anyone runs in the same problem in the future => it's a scoping issue the module resource was targeting a deployment group and the main file was running on a management. Tbh no idea why the error occurred but moving everything up (not inside a module) resolved the issue | 18:51:55 |

| @iinuwa:matrix.org | I have a problem with building a library project using the public nuget.org NuGet feed and a private, authenticated feed (Sonatype Nexus) in Azure DevOps.
I can execute dotnet restore without errors, but when I run dotnet build or dotnet pack, the RestoreTask task kicks in and tries to restore dependencies again (this happens even if I use the --no-restore or --no-build flags).
On the second restore, the CLI attempts to find packages on both feeds without authentication. In the case of Serilog, which is available on the public feed, the CLI finds the package version I'm looking for on the public feed, but the private repository rejects the request with a 401 Unauthorized because Basic auth isn't being sent.
What I would expect is that either dotnet build uses the correct credentials for private feeds, or that it would ignore feeds that cannot be accessed. I can see from https://github.com/NuGet/Home/issues/6373 that not ignoring inaccessible feeds is by design. What I don't understand is why the credentials are not being sent. I used a proxy to sniff the requests, and I see for for the dotnet restore task, the CLI attempts o access the feed without authentication and then tries again with authentication. but the RestoreTask msbuild task doesn't seem to retry. I think that's the main issue.
This is preventing me from building this library in CI. Has anyone else come across this? Am I doing something wrong? | 12:33:54 |
