So there's a GitHub discussion about the optimal layout for the GP's office (https://github.com/CorsixTH/CorsixTH/discussions/2404) where I've posted about how if the desk faces south, the doctor will always sit down and get up from his chair from opposite sides of the desk. By comparison, if the desk faces north, the doctor always sits down and gets up from the same direction (i.e. the side of the desk with the telephone/lamp). I suspect this might be a minor bug which wasn't caught before the game shipped! Before I create a ticket, I wanted to check whether it would actually be possible to modify the behaviour so that doctors always sit down and get up from the same side of the desk, thus saving them from having to constantly walk round the chair. | 21:22:34

theoretically yes, practically currently no | 05:43:03
we use the animations from the original game, and these have the described behavior | 05:43:36
so to change it we would need other animations | 05:43:54
while we eventually aim for having freely available animations as well, currently nobody has picked up that job yet. | 05:45:08
as for the behavior, maybe the north-facing deskis the one that has a bug? From a design point, the game should provide a challenge to the player; you wouldn't play the game if you don't need to do work to win | 05:49:26
so if the game makes it too easy nobody would bother playing it | 05:50:51
I do like the discussions, it's fun to read how everything hets optimized :) | 05:51:55
If you find discrepancies between the original and Corsix, please report them. Our aim is to also have original game behavior | 05:53:17
Thanks for replying. While I personally think the south-facing desks should match the north-facing desks (i.e. be more efficient), I won't create a new ticket since it's not entirely clear what the intended behaviour should have been and it wouldn't be . In any case, this minor discrepancy is documented in the above Discussion thread. | 20:13:33

Interesting point about how CorsixTH should aim to reproduce Theme Hospital as faithfully as possible, even minor quirks like these | 20:29:19

Encountered a bug where I tried to pick up a doctor to manually move him from GP office to General Diagnosis. The doctor continued working in the GP office, despite having "Heading for General Diagnosis" in his status and I could no longer pick him up. I also could no longer interact with the UI correctly - I could open panels using keyboard shortcuts but clicking any buttons would cause them to stay pressed | 22:13:37
Did you get an error in the gamelog file? | 22:36:58
that is long as it hasnt crashed again | 22:37:20

I also spotted some layering issues with the Psychiatric room - unsure if this occurred in Theme Hospital, but note how the doc's chair is in front of the bookcase and then the doc appear underneath the couch | 23:18:38

There is a meta issue for glitches: https://github.com/CorsixTH/CorsixTH/issues/1638 | 07:40:18
can you check if it is listed there? | 07:40:32
but yeah, rendering isn't flawless in Corsix :) | 07:41:17 |
