@aminda:pikaviestin.fiAminda.eu ⚧oh, yes, those would be nice too16:03:20
@nour:mozilla.orgNourYeah there are pros and cons to both, ASP feels a bit more nicely integrated with Keyoxide, but OpenPGP on the other hand feels more universal/decentralized especially when you use the same key to sign your commits, mail etc16:04:49
@nour:mozilla.orgNourIt would probably be nice if there's a unified frontend for both types of profiles (for those that have both set up and linked together), like a single Keyoxide profile page with an OpenPGP section and an ASP section and related proofs for each16:06:34
@nour:mozilla.orgNourMight be something for kxid.me16:07:31

I was wondering what the best way to do this would be when it comes to the Keyoxide profile URL (without requiring something like kxid) since it needs to be decentralized and stateless, and I think it might be really simple: https://keyoxide.org/DOMAIN.TLD

You would still be able to link to each profile individually through https://keyoxide.org/FINGERPRINT

All you would need is a TXT record (probably the same one you already have for DNS verification), similar to Bluesky profile links

@ty:myriation.xyzTyYou can already verify openpgp profiles from aspe profiles and the reverse, does that not link them together sufficiently? Then the web UI could display them both if designed to do so16:52:14
@nour:mozilla.orgNourYep exactly, but the question is what URL would you use to link to that web UI? keyoxide.org/DOMAIN.TLD would probably be ideal, assuming you have a TXT record on it for each key17:07:48
@ty:myriation.xyzTyI did plan to see about adding to the ASP(E) spec the ability to add "default profiles" to domains, which would essentially function the same as what you are suggesting but with HTTP install of DNS17:13:42

@vladimyr:matrix.orgvladimyr I'm re-reading https://ariadne.id/related/ariadne-alias-specification-1/#4-1-alias-url and I fail to understand does this mean https://domain.tld/keyoxide should be treated as a valid alias URL candidate or not? Aka do alias URLs need to follow some sort of naming convention or just being served via https is enough? 05:02:11

hmm... this reminds me that it'd be good to embed the avatar link as a page thumbnail so it'd display nicely in Mastodon

Indeed, thanks for the nice call 😃 very useful! Notes from the call should be ready tomorrow (and do pester me if they aren't!)
also were the notes somewhere visible?
14:56:30
@Ciblia:matrix.orgAminda ⚧️ (🐢⏭️) and there were some docs permissions and PRs somewhere while meowing about pestering or something  14:57:18
