@Dezponia:matrix.orgDezponiabut when it does work it seems to work well :)21:33:50
@JigmeDatse:openpsychology.netJigmeDatse (OPP)That's my experience as well. It's frustrating that it often fails. But it's not frustrating enough to say that it's a feature that should be removed. It's great when it does work, and I think to some extent room size (number of members, and perhaps other factors) does play a role.21:39:11
@Dezponia:matrix.orgDezponiaIt seems to be a resource issue, since the main server is so big and heavy to run. Hopefully its something they can optimise later :)21:41:25
@DatseMultimedia:matrix.orgJigme Datse (they/them)They've been working on it for quite a while. There's another project that is supposed to replace Synapse (the main server) but my last look, the progress on that has been slow. There have been independent projects which have been created, but many of those independent developers have gotten really annoyed about the poor/non documentation of how things work, to the extent that they have stopped development.21:59:18
@Dezponia:matrix.orgDezponiaIf I recall the project to replace synapse has been put on hold in favour of fixing some rather major issues with synapse itself. But Synapse has improved a lot since then so maybe it'll pick up "soon"22:03:47
@DatseMultimedia:matrix.orgJigme Datse (they/them)Yes, it is indeed stated like that. But Dendrite is intended to make fundamental changes, whereas the changes in Synapse have been incremental improvements, which have been really necessary. It's been a tricky balance to find.22:09:24
