 richvdh | andrewsh: we are going to stop shipping our (python2) matrix-synapse package, so I want to find a way to try to make sure that everybody ends up with either your matrix-synapse package or our matrix-synapse-py3 package, rather than getting stuck on 0.34.0 forever - but I don't want to make extra work for you.
One thought I had for this was that we could push out an empty matrix-synapse 0.34.0-0matrix2 package, which depends on matrix-synapse-py3. Then anyone on stretch with backports enabled (and anyone on sid or disco) would be unaffected because they would stick with your 0.34.0-3 package, and people who are have just got our repo enabled would switch over to our matrix-synapse-py3. WDYT?
