If you find issues, let me know

+debian1 version once I feel like it's release-ready

18:16:38
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshI’d add some diagnostic prints when it finds untrusted stuff18:18:57
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshsince if it breaks for some reason the users would be confused why they see an error and what was happening that led to it18:19:24
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshwhen doing potentially hacky things, I prefer to keep the user up to date about what I’m doing as much as I can18:20:04
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshby hacky things I mean, amongst other things, configuration file migrations18:20:21
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshand messing around with keyrings is arguably even more a hacky thing than just migrating configuraiton files 🙂18:21:06
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

I noticed the other archive keyring packages don't do that (debian-archive-keyring may be an exception), but I'll look into it

18:21:19
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

All other keyring packages seem to do the same keyring migration

18:21:36
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

some do it to /usr/share/keyrings, some do it to /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d and some support both for transitioning.

18:21:56
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

One of the packages from November 2017 still supports /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d for "transitioning"...

@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshI didn’t know they did18:36:21
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshI’ll have a look at other packages a bit later18:36:37
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewsh I need to do some shopping now 18:36:52
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

Not sure where you meant to print untrusted stuff checks

18:36:56
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshnot actual shopping, but mostly getting my phone repaired18:37:04
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshRedacted or Malformed Event18:37:33
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewsh e.g. we found a key we want to dropprint Dropping a key… or such 18:37:47
@andrewsh:matrix.organdrewshanyway, laters18:38:10
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

Thanks, later

18:38:15
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

Some keyring packages also use which instead of command -v to check presence of a command. Non-POSIX.

19:28:53
@lindalap:matrix.orgLinda

in a POSIX sh
