Alexander Mashin | "SMWCon ist taking a break". Is it deliberate? | 11:17:38 |
Bernhard Krabina | Yes, we were on lunch break | 14:19:06 |

Alexander Mashin | In reply to @krabina:matrix.org"Ja, wir waren on lunch break". I meant the verb ist. | 01:48:58 |
Jeffrey Wang (MyWikis) | No, it was not deliberate. | 09:04:13 |

justinl | I'm testing my upgraded MW 1.39 wikis but SMW only got upgraded from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2. However, even after update.php, the .smw.json file still shows the previous version as 3.2.3 with the latest being 4.0.2, with a timestamp from the last major upgrade in 2022. As such, the Special:SemanticMediaWiki page still reports out of date table optimization:
Is this something I need to be concerned about? | 16:31:42 |

justinl | Per https://github.com/SemanticMediaWiki/SemanticMediaWiki/issues/4727 regarding the parser unification project, is there any ETA on an update to SMW with an alternative to the in-text annotation bracket syntax? | 21:39:17 |
justinl | Ok, ignore my question, I've been corrected. | 22:02:15 |
justinl | Unrelated to my above question but related to the empty/incomplete query results problem (https://github.com/SemanticMediaWiki/SemanticMediaWiki/issues/5392), the latest post there reminded me of seeing that same error back in 1.34 and 1.35, which had led to this email to the semediawiki-user list back in 2021 that got no responses. Thought I'd ask about it here and see if it's at all possibly related, and what it even means. https://github.com/SemanticMediaWiki/SemanticMediaWiki/issues/5392 | 23:02:25 |

justinl | Is anyone here using SMW with DPL3? One of our editors just reported that they can reproduce a bug occurring in a specific template that uses both SMW and DPL3 where the SMW properties get removed when Purging the page. | 22:41:21 |
justinl | He says he can't find any reported issues in either SMW or DPL3 repos. | 22:41:46 |

Bertrand Gorge | We do. And we sometimes lose our smw properties for some given page then it comes back. It's better now but I can't tell what exactly is the reproduction scenario | 07:11:53 |

Kimmy Brewer | Hello! We're running into an upgrade key error. SMW v 4.0.2, MW v 1.39.1, Code: Error_Schema_Invalid_Key. We have tried running the update.php, setupStore.php, as well as an importDump.xml file which I noticed the previous dev team used to work around this issue months ago. We keep running into this error on the pipeline: | 18:20:44 |
Kimmy Brewer | PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: Unable to open file /var/www/mediawiki/w/extensions/AdminLinks/extension.json: filemtime(): stat failed for /var/www/mediawiki/w/extensions/AdminLinks/extension.json in /var/www/mediawiki/w/includes/registration/ExtensionRegistry.php:199Stack trace: #0 /var/www/mediawiki/w/includes/GlobalFunctions.php(53): ExtensionRegistry->queue('/var/www/mediaw...') #1 /mediawiki/config/LocalSettings.php(206): wfLoadExtension('AdminLinks') #2 /var/www/mediawiki/w/CanastaDefaultSettings.php(73): require_once('/mediawiki/conf...') #3 /var/www/mediawiki/w/LocalSettings.php(8): require_once('/var/www/mediaw...') #4 /var/www/mediawiki/w/includes/Setup.php(218): require_once('/var/www/mediaw...') #5 /var/www/mediawiki/w/maintenance/doMaintenance.php(83): require_once('/var/www/mediaw...') #6 /var/www/mediawiki/w/maintenance/importDump.php(369): require_once('/var/www/mediaw...') #7 {main} thrown in /var/www/mediawiki/w/includes/registration/ExtensionRegistry.php on line 199 | 18:21:50 |
Kimmy Brewer | Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. | 18:24:48 |
Bernhard Krabina | Try removing AdminLinks extension (that is mentioned in the error) | 18:43:57 |
Kimmy Brewer | I tried this, it just jumps to the next extension | 19:50:48 |
Kimmy Brewer | I am able to run, what appears successfully, the update and setupStore script without the problem extension enabled. As soon as the problem extension is enabled we are given the upgrade key error, at which point it displays the above error when those scripts try to run. I have attempted various combinations of the smwgConfigFileDir, the upgrade key enabled/disabled in our LS.p, and just enabling the base SMW rather than any associated extensions. I have reached out to our "hoster" to see if maybe they configured PHP to use CGI vs CLI. I would be interested in further debugging from this source (https://wiki.bitplan.com/index.php/SMWIssue4785) but I'm not quite sure how/where to implement this code. When I try the web update it gives me an error related to the problem extension, of which there is a patch for so I'm not quite sure why it's stuck on that and not reading all its associated files. | 22:14:56 |

Alexander Mashin | Are the permissions for the extension directories right? | 01:22:40 |
justinl | Hmm, interesting. Once I'm back to work, I'll see about providing better repro information. If you discover anything further, I'd love to hear about it. Regardless, i hope you're enjoying the holidays! | 05:19:57 |
