RiderExMachina | Yeah, we're not super lively in here | 15:05:27 |
dragoncraft89 | Yeah. Maybe having two talk rooms is a bit too much? As most of the discussion about this project is kinda development related (e.g. ideas for improvement fit into that categroy too). Maybe closing this one and advertising the other channel more would be better? I don't really know. Opinions welcome | 15:11:56 |
dragoncraft89 | It seems like everyone tries this channel first (as it's the more general channel), sees a lack of activity and maybe assumes this project is dead? | 15:13:00 |
RiderExMachina | I think this is a good location for "Random" talk, though | 15:13:39 |
RiderExMachina | Like computer specs and whatnot | 15:15:05 |
dragoncraft89 | Well, fair enough | 15:15:16 |
dragoncraft89 | Maybe we can make this more lively by collecting feedback in form of polls? Like, "Would you prefer if <x> worked like <y> or <z>?" | 15:19:56 |
RiderExMachina | That's a pretty good idea | 15:21:35 |
RiderExMachina | I don't see a poll option in the integrations, which is a bit of a shame | 15:22:05 |
dragoncraft89 | We could do:
Reply with a reaction to this post:
👍️ I like this idea
👎️ I dislike this idea
But this isn't anonymous, as you can see who replied with what reaction | 15:26:07 |
RiderExMachina | That just means people need to own their vote | 15:26:28 |
dragoncraft89 | And the results can be changed after the poll deadline? Don't know how bad that is | 15:27:49 |
RiderExMachina | That's a good point | 15:28:02 |
dragoncraft89 | I found this: But it's a) not maintained and b) I don't see how it's better than creating those posts yourself | 15:45:07 |

RiderExMachina | We're a quiet bunch, as you can probably tell | 19:16:00 |

Xerenogan | Yeah, understandable. I've had a look at STP, and I like what I see! Hopefully at some point it will make it's way into repos. | 18:53:51 |
Xerenogan | I understand that it is just an alpha right now. There is at least one mini-game that if the computer has to play itself, it cannot ever win (the snowball one). | 18:55:13 |
Xerenogan | Still, the concept seems fun. | 18:55:37 |
RiderExMachina | Yeah, I finally opened a bug on the "Never Ending Knock Off" problem the other day. We still have lots of other ideas that we hope to get implemented as well. It should be a good time once it becomes a little more polished | 18:59:04 |
RiderExMachina | Now I'm a little sad I didn't name the bug report "Knock Off won't knock it off" | 19:02:13 |
Xerenogan | Haha, yeah. | 19:03:18 |
dragoncraft89 | It really needs a lot more work. Sometimes I don't even know where to start improving it 😁
But I think we're getting there. Especially with the graphic changes that are about to come in the next release 😄 | 21:55:41 |

sholum | Hi | 01:32:59 |
sholum | I am thinking of making an AUR package for the game, but I don't know exactly what the "requirements" are, would someone know to tell me which packages are simply to build the game and which are necessary for the game to work? | 01:34:40 |
dragoncraft89 | Hi 😀
You don't need any packages. You just have to download the binaries from supertux.party (via wget for example) and unpack the zip file.
If you really want to build this from source, then you'd have to install godot with the export templates configured. Both need to have the correct version (currently 3.2.2)
In the git repo there's a Makefile, if you've set up everything you can build with make linux.
But building from source is a complicated process which cannot be automated easily, that's why I wouldn't recommend that | 09:04:38 |
sholum | Hmm, ok, very helpful.
Thanks you
