tmallard | Reviewed the draft, saved a copy, changed some things on 3d printing to be more positive, deferred reactor to 'power plant', subtle changes.
Joined SpaceDecentral it's a domain, minor stuff, mainly focused on removing tentative wording.

tmallard | For a very possible product line for lunar consider atomic optical castings on high curved lenses, ALD, similar to chemical deposition with more precise control.
In anhydrous glass these lenses will be bombproof strength-wise and thus able to fill stress environments unavailable to earthen methods.

tmallard | I ran down 2 things for 3d printing:
Using treated solar light, a pseudo ruby output with a variable crystal range of frequency a standard to use.
The other, multiple plasma rings to drop unsorted, as-is soil through so it binds at 'sticky' temps well below full melt, it's dirty glass.
So, a mixed ceramic that doesn't use a binder is super strong done well, this is glass-making, it's all near anhydrous, so, I think it's 3-4x beyond std glass so can handle living space pressure from the rover, continuous wall method vs bricks.
The innovation, then, is creating structures with a splatter gun hotend the analogy to build things that are insulated from the ambient charge, this reduces galvanic corrosion at airlocks, that's a critical longevity and high traffic volume factor.
This can be gantry any scale, the brick size is fine for a one-off, and, also a rover that digs & places any normal living space with the continuous method.
Then, for photon physics phun, a light storing capacity in a vacuum tube demo ... one-way 'photon diode' inlet, mirrored interior, sorted glass spheroids the isru resource for these.
Plasma rings are lab or test bench items, I recall a paper using a single, it's possible charge can be used instead of a gas to feed, ymmv. | 05:28:08 |

tmallard | Here's a quickie outline of one focus path for a document stressing solar 3d printing of lunar micro-spheroids, with sorting & dust removal for feedstock for the printer which is tiny and desktop OTS available.
The value-proposition is based on a quantum reduction in size of existing medical products from such stronger glass.
Then, it keeps the overalll volume, weight, power & costs way down on a first try vs brick size.
It's the easiest sort to feedstock quality.
The medical market has other product lines it'll support if this makes it.
The product is very light & small to return to Earth and the intention to support a cost-based price structure vs subsidized financially.
