No Deeper Love

Today's Scripture

Colossians 3:12-14 NKJV - Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Sometimes this world can seem so huge and overwhelming that you’re tempted to believe that with the millions of people on this earth, you are too insignificant to matter. Some even believe that if they were to die, no one would even notice they were gone. But no one is ‘insignificant’ to God! He not only created you, but He “knows you” by name and has counted every hair on your head! (yes, He knows how many hairs you have lost too!) The Bible says in Hosea 2:19, “I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.” And in Isaiah 54:10, He tells us, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord.” What a beautiful expression of God’s love for His children. On days when you are in the depths of despair, feeling unloved, unnoticed and everything seems dark, think on this: Jesus loves you more than you could possibly know! You are so important to Him that He left heaven to come to this earth and die on a cross, just so that you could live with Him forever! Love just doesn’t get deeper than that! Text: Zephaniah 3:17, Micah 7:19, Ephesians 5:1-2, Colossians 3:12-14.

God Requires Obedience

Today's Scripture

Philippians 4:9 NKJV - The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Everyone loves to hear the heartfelt words,”I love you,” for it is human nature to want to be loved. But expressing that love by our behavior is much sweeter than merely saying the words! God loves to hear us express our love for Him too, but it’s important not only to actually say the words, but to show Him as well. One of the ways we can show God how much we love Him is by obeying His laws. The Bible says in John 14:15, “If you love me keep my commandments.” It’s important to be obedient not only by our words and actions, but in our thoughts as well. In Luke 11:28 we’re told, “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Many times, our hearts long to serve the Lord with “blind obedience,” but we are weak. Whenever we feel the enemy pressuring us to disobey, remember that the “power to resist” comes from God. All we need to do is pray, “Lord, please give me the courage and strength to do what is right so that Your will may be fulfilled in my life.” There’s a beautiful promise in 1 John 2:17 that we can claim for our own, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” Text: Deuteronomy 4:2, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Philippians 4:9.

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's Mood Changes Wednesday. Read Psalm 34:17 NKJV - "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles." When God created human life - He gave each of us a wide variety of emotions. Depending on how our day is going, what stresses are in our lives, or how comfortable we feel - our moods can change in an instant! If someone cuts us off in traffic, we immediately feel slighted and offended, some even get angry. If someone gives us an unexpected compliment all of a sudden we feel a rush of warmth and a smile can go a long way at making our day just a little brighter. Our day can start out great, until we get to the office and find out we lost our job. That brings on a whole bucket load of emotions including shock, denial, anger, disappointment, fearful and the list goes on. It’s not wrong to feel anger, after all, God created that emotion, but definitely not to “stay angry.” Our emotional buttons get pushed in our spiritual life as well. If we like the pastor and we feel warmly accepted by church members then we have a good feeling and even look forward to going to church. But the first member to upset us or do us wrong - we all of a sudden find excuses not to go anymore because of feelings of resentment, hurt, and sorrow. That’s why God doesn’t want us to allow our emotions to rule our spiritual life - especially our faith in Him. If we allow our faith in God to diminish because someone hurt our feelings - then our faith is based on people - not God! Our moods change like the wind - but God never changes! He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! And best of all, He will never leave us or forsake us. We can claim His promise in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always even unto the end of the world.” No matter what emotional crisis we are going through or how we are feeling, or mood changes we experience - we can depend on God to comfort us with His Holy Spirit presence, compassion and unfailing love! Amen 13:30:59

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoniGood Morning! It's Can Do Attitude Friday. Read James 4:11-12 NKJV - Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? One of the best traits you can have is; “self confidence,” because it makes all the difference in the world as you face difficult challenges along this journey of life. It’s hard to accomplish anything if you constantly feel like a failure. And if you tell yourself that you’re worthless long enough, pretty soon you’ll start to believe it and you won’t live the abundant, joyful life God wants you to have. When you don’t believe you’re good enough, smart enough, talented enough, or even worthy to be in this world, you will surely have a miserable life! And this same “can’t do attitude” carries over to your spiritual life as well. When you tell yourself what a failure you are, and you can’t imagine how anyone could love you, including God, you become despondent, distant and instead of reaching out to Him for help, your tendency is to pull away. But instead of running away from God, give Him a chance. He is a most loving, compassionate, generous, and forgiving God, and no one could possibly love you more than He does! So if you are filled with self doubt, self loathing, or just feeling discouraged because you think no one cares, remember Jesus loves you! Ask God to give you a “can do” attitude and claim His promise in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Amen! Text: Psalm 139:14, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 10:12.13:07:23

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's Don’t Be Moved Tuesday. Read Acts 20:24, NKJV. “None of these things move me.” The apostle Paul went through all kinds of unfair situations. He was falsely accused of crimes, beaten with rods, lied about, put in prison, and shipwrecked. In Acts 20, he gives us the secret of living a victorious life: “None of these things move me.” He was saying, “Yes, there were setbacks and disappointments, but I didn’t lose my joy. God is still on the throne. Even being put in prison gave me the opportunity to write about half of the books of the New Testament.” There’s always something trying to move us, to pull us out of peace, to pull us out of rest. Are you allowing these things to move you? You can’t pray them away. These are tests we all have to pass. Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled.” He said troubles will be there, but you don’t have to be moved by them. Stay in peace. Quit letting these things ruin your day.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that I don’t have to be moved by the tests and troubles I face because I know that You are still on the throne. My faith and trust are in You and Your mighty power at work in my life. I declare that You will work Your good plan for my future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

The Battle Is Already Won

Today's Scripture

Psalm 34:7 NKJV - The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

The world today is faced with a pandemic, protests, wars, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, human tragedies and financial collapse. It seems no matter which way you turn, there are dangers and unrest, so much so that it can easily keep you in a state of panic. And when you throw politics in the mix, it seems this world is going downhill fast! This age of uncertainty is one of the main ingredients for a life lived in fear where every cell in your body cries out for stability and security. But when life seems dismal and bleak - remember that as Christians there’s no need to be afraid, because you know the end of the story! You know that God wins! Your security is in Jesus Christ alone. With Him by your side - the battle is already won! When everything and everyone fails you, Jesus never fails! All the upheaval and scary things going on in the world show just how much you need a Savior, the stabilizing source of your faith in troubling times. When you feel afraid, give your uneasy feelings, your fears and your anxiety to God and ask Him to hold your hand and never let go! He will calm your fears and take away that queasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. The Bible says in Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” No matter what is happening in the world, you can depend on Jesus, for He will never let you down! Text: Psalm 46:1-2, Isaiah 35:3-4, Psalm 24:8, Psalm 34:7.

Confession Good for Your Soul

Today's Scripture

Romans 3:23-24 NKJV - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Satan uses every possible tool to separate you from Jesus! He knows your weakness and he boldly exploits it to his advantage. Let’s face it–Satan makes sin look very attractive, and he can take the ugliest parts of sin and make it appear to be fun, exciting, and downright enticing. He wouldn’t be very successful at tempting you to sin if he didn’t make it so alluring. Please note this: it is not a sin to be tempted–it’s a sin to “yield” to temptation. That’s why it’s best not to even allow yourself to be placed in a position where you are pushing your sinful desires to the limit! Walk away and say, “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Once you submit to sin, it gets easier and easier to keep on sinning. Sin is sin! It doesn’t matter if it’s adultery, selfishness, pride, gossip, overeating, or murder–sin will keep you out of heaven–period! But praise the Lord, He has given a plan for salvation that none should perish. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” The key word here is “confess.” You need to repent and confess your sin before your Savior and He will give you His gift of forgiveness.” He earned that right when He paid the price for your sins on Calvary. Confession is not only good for your soul–your salvation depends on it! Whatever your favorite sin that you are hanging on to–ask God to give you the strength and power to surrender it to Him so that you can experience the true joy of walking with Jesus! Text: Proverbs 28:13, Psalm 32:5, Acts 3:19, Romans 3:23-24.

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's From Worst To Best Wednesday. Read John 20:19, NIV. "…with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among [the disciples] and said, “Peace be with you!” We celebrate Good Friday each year, but on the day when Jesus was crucified, the disciples thought it was the worst day of their lives. “Tragic Friday” would have been their description. The One whom they had devoted their lives to was dead and buried in a tomb. But a few days later, when Jesus rose from the dead, they realized that He was who He’d said He was. He had defeated the enemy and brought salvation to mankind. What they’d thought was the worst day of their lives became the best. We all face times when a dream dies, a relationship ends, we come down with an illness—nothing about the situation seems good. It may not be good right now, but God knows how to bring it all together. You may think it is going to stop you, set you back, and cause you heartache. If you’ll stay in faith, one day you’ll look back and say it was good.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that You see the big picture for my life and that You use difficulties for my good. Help me to be patient and trusting when things happen that I don’t understand. I believe that You will bring it all together for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoniGood Morning! It's Seasons Of Life Friday. Read Proverbs 9:11 NKJV - For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Our journey here on earth is like the seasons, representing the different phases of our lives. Spring represents birth, and the innocence of everything new. Summer is filled with the vitality and naivety of youth, with hopes, dreams and the pursuit of life at its fullest. Then it seems we quietly slip into fall, with confidence from lessons learned, knowledge to approach challenges more realistically, and feeling a sense of urgency to accomplish our goals. Then, all too quickly, winter is upon us. Our hair reflects the fallen snow, we move a little slower, feel the aches and pains of aging, and still can’t comprehend how quickly we’ve become the “older folks” we never thought we’d be. Our thoughts will take us to the things we wish we had done, wanted to do and even regrets of what we did do. But all too soon winter will come to an end, and only what is done for Christ will last. Now is the time to determine what mark you will leave on this earth, for whatever you want to accomplish in life – do quickly. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today – for how you live today will determine whether or not you will live forever with Jesus. Choose to live a godly life, sewing seeds of kindness and sharing God’s love in every season so that you’ll be prepared for eternal life in heaven. Amen. @pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's He’s Not Limited By Seasons Monday. Read John 5:4, KJV. "For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had." There was a crippled man who had been lying by the pool of Bethesda for thirty-eight years. The people knew when it was the season for the angel to come. This man knew that was his window of opportunity to get well. One day Jesus came and said to him, “Do you want to get well?” I can imagine the man was confused. It wasn’t the right season for the angel to come. But Jesus said to the man, “Get up, pick up your bed, and walk.” Instantly the man was healed. Don’t be surprised when God shows up and you aren’t expecting it. God likes to break the rules, so to speak, to do things that we can’t explain. You don’t see any way, the odds are against you. God doesn’t have to wait for the training, for the boss to like you, for the loan to go through, for the economy to improve. He controls the universe. He’s not limited by seasons.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that You’re not limited by seasons, by closed doors, by disappointments, or by my preconceived ideas of how You can work. Thank You that You do things out of the box that I’m not expecting. I’m looking for Your surprises. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's God Cares About the Little Things Tuesday. Read Psalm 139:17-18 NKJV - How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. Many people don’t talk to God about the insignificant things in their life because, well, they feel they just don’t want to “bother God.” But the truth is–there’s nothing too small or too big that you can’t share with God. In fact, He loves it every time you share your heart with Him. And yes, that includes the little details of your life. The Bible says in Luke 12:7, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Now, it doesn’t get more insignificant than hairs on your head–and yet God says He numbers our hairs! Ask yourself this: do you get irritated when a friend shares little things like when their sink overflowed, their boss was grumpy, their dog ran away, or they were late to work because they couldn’t find their keys? Of course not–for if you really love your friend, you’re interested in every aspect of their life. So it is with God. The minute He hears your voice, “Dear Lord,” He gets excited! And He not only listens–but He answers! Don’t be afraid to go to God with small requests–because He wants to help you with everything! He cares about what upsets you, as well as listening to your hopes, dreams, and the things that make you happy. When you pray, just picture in your mind Jesus sitting on the edge of His seat, eyes intently focused on you, eager to hear your every word, and then He asks you this question found in Mark 10:36: “What do you want me to do for you?” Text: Luke 12:27, Matthew 6:8, 26, Psalm 139:17-18
Prayer for Today
Thank you Lord for the reminder that you care about the little things in our life! All we have to do is to give it to you. In Jesus' Name. Amen

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's Come Alive Wednesday. Read Ezekiel 37: 4-5, ESV. Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.” The prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of a valley filled with bones. It was like a huge graveyard of bones from people who had died. Bones represent things in our life that look dead, situations that seem impossible and permanently unchanging. God said, “Prophesy to these dead bones.” Ezekiel started speaking to the bones, telling them to come alive. As he was speaking, the bones started rattling and coming together, morphing back into people. Finally, breath came into those bodies, and they stood up like “a vast army.” You may have things in your life that seem dead, a relationship, a business, your health. All you can see is a valley of dry bones, so to speak. It’s not enough to just pray about it; you need to speak to it. Prophesy to those dead bones. Call in health. Call in abundance. Call in restoration. God will resurrect what looks dead. He’ll make things happen that you could never make happen.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that I can speak to the things in my life that seem dead, and You will breathe life into them and bring resurrection. I believe that as I speak words of faith, You will make things happen that I could never make happen. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's God Sees Your Tears Thursday. Read Psalm 34:18 NKJV - "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit." It may seem that no one cares, as if you didn’t matter at all . . . but Jesus does! When you feel all alone, thinking that no one would notice if you fell off the face of the earth . . . Jesus does! You could be in the depths of despair, feeling that there’s not a person in the world that truly “loves you,” . . . but Jesus does! There’s a beautiful song by Gordon Jensen, that goes like this: “God sees the tears of a broken hearted soul, He sees your tears and hears them when they fall, God weeps along with man and He takes him by the hand, Tears are a language God understands. When grief has left you low, it causes tears to flow, When things have not turned out the way that you had planned. But God won't forget you His promises are true, And tears are a language God understands.” Remember that no matter how “all alone you feel,” you are never really alone, because Jesus is always with you, and “help” is only a prayer away! You may “feel” unloveable, but God loves you so much He gave His life just so that you could spend eternity with Him in heaven! You may think you’re “unworthy”–but Jesus makes you worthy! God sees your tears, and longs for you to run into his arms of love, where He will wipe away each tear, and fill your empty heart with His joy! Amen. Text: Psalm 34:18, Romans 14:7-8, Romans 8:39, Psalm 56:8. 14:16:32

Good Morning! It's Days Of Trouble Are Temporary Friday. Read Ephesians 6: 13, NKJV. "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." In life we all have days of trouble, days of opposition, days of darkness. But the same God who said there will be a day of trouble also said there will be a day when that trouble ends. You may be in difficulty right now. Be encouraged, it’s not permanent. God has set an expiration date to it. You’re in the middle now, but at the appointed time, the end will come. Don’t be overwhelmed by a sickness, or a legal problem, or a situation in your finances, each has an expiration date. It’s one of those days of trouble for which God has a day of deliverance, of healing, of breakthrough. You can’t control everything that happens to you. Just take your stand in faith, be your best, and trust God to take care of the rest. God has you in the palms of His hands. Right now He’s working out His plan for your life. Don’t get discouraged by the process.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for Your promise that You will work out Your plans for my life. Thank You that You have equipped me with armor to withstand the days of trouble. I believe that You have me in the palms of Your hands, and You will get me through. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

@pastortoni:matrix.orgpastortoni Good Morning! It's Cure For Anxiety Tuesday. Read Matthew 21:22 NKJV - "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." There are some people that question the need for prayer, wondering why should they pray when God already knows their thoughts. And it is true, God does know your thoughts, but He “responds” to your prayers! God wants you to come to Him and lay out your petitions before Him, and one thing you can be sure of is that God will always answer and will always have your best interests at heart. One of the blessings of being able to communicate directly with God is that prayer is the best cure for anxiety.  When you pray about your problems, you are talking to someone who actually has the power to do something about it. No matter how big or small the problem, God can solve it! When your troubles seem too heavy to bear, give them to Jesus and allow Him to embrace you in His arms of love, giving you comfort and peace of mind. The Bible says in Psalm 107:9, “For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.” And in John 15:7 we’re told, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” So the next time you start to feel anxious, there’s no need for pacing the floor, instead get on your knees and you’ll quickly discover the cure for anxiety. Amen! Text: Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7, Jeremiah 33:3, Matthew 21:22. 13:36:16
