 pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Everlasting Arms of Jesus Friday. Read Psalm 18:2 NKJV - "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." No one “likes” to go through hard times nor do they wish for a “bad day,” but it is through life’s toughest battles–that you’ll receive some of your biggest blessings. Without the hard times–you would never know your need for a Savior. When everything’s going smoothly, you’re focused on the great time you’re having, celebrating with friends and living “the good life.” But when trouble knocks on your door–it sends you crying for help to the only One who has the power to help you! It is while on your knees that you are humbled and you realize just how much you need God in your life. Through all the heartache and pain you’ll draw closer to God–listening for His voice, sharing your sorrow, and learning to trust Him fully, knowing He will help you and will do what’s best for you. The Bible says in Psalm 91:14-15, “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” And in Psalm 34:19 it says “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” Learning “real life character-changing” lessons doesn’t come from having a boatload of money, lots of friends, or fame. It is when the rent is due, the baby is sick, you lost your job, or your friend betrayed you–that you’ll lean on God the most! Leaning on the everlasting arms of Jesus is a great place to be! Amen! | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Secrets of Your Heart Monday. Read John 15:12 NKJV - "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." Many Christians have the perception that if they want to go to heaven then they have to get their quota of “good deeds” done, as if they are earning their entrance fee to paradise. But no one can ‘earn’ or ‘buy’ their way to heaven. Salvation is free to all who have surrendered their hearts to Jesus! But that doesn’t mean we are off the hook when it comes to compassion toward our fellow man. Jesus set a wonderful example when He was here on earth about how to treat others. He was tender and kind with everyone, even those who were cruel and mistreated Him. He never spoke in anger or disgust, but only with love in His heart. The closer our relationship is to Christ, the more we become like Him. We will want to be kind and generous to others, not for “show” or to get compliments about how great we are, but rather because we truly love as Jesus loves! If we are just needing an “ego boost,” and performing acts of kindness for the wrong reasons, not only will God know, but it will become obvious to others as well, because our actions betray the secrets in our hearts! | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's When Life Suddenly Changes Wednesday. Read Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV- "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." Everything in your life could be going along quite smoothly, when all of a sudden your life is changed in an instant! It could be a phone call, an email, text, or knock at the door that changes your life forever. Perhaps a spouse announces they want a divorce, you receive a grim diagnoses, a best friend betrays you, a loved one dies or a hundred other reasons. No matter what devastating loss you are dealt, how you pick up the pieces makes a huge difference in how you live the rest of your life. Some become bitter, angry, while others sink in a deep depression, and still others, walk around numb as if they are in a soundproof bubble, not able to experience life - only watch it pass them by. None of these scenarios will give you the abundant life that God wants you to have. Although it is heartbreaking to experience pain and loss - please know that God can heal your broken heart and give you His gift of Joy! The Bible says in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." With Jesus, you can face each day knowing He loves you with an everlasting love. When your life suddenly changes, don't allow the devil to separate you from Jesus! Put your trust in God, knowing you are in His plan for He will never leave you or forsake you, and He will give you strength and courage to face each day - and be a shining light for Him! Amen! TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
“Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
Luke 8:48, NIV
TODAY’S WORD:
Scripture says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” That means you can be obedient and yet have a sour attitude and not please God. You can give, help the poor, and volunteer, which are good things we should do, and not please God. If you’re not believing for things bigger than you can accomplish on your own, if you’re not expecting difficulties to turn around, if you’re not anticipating new levels, and thanking God that He’s opening doors you can’t open, thanking Him that He’s bringing promises to pass, then you’re not releasing your faith. You have to stir up what God put in your heart.
Maybe you’ve been praying, believing, expecting for a long time. Stay in faith; it’s going to happen sooner than it looks. Get ready because God is full of surprises. Many times He’ll do it suddenly, out of the ordinary, you didn’t see it coming. Expect His goodness, and you’ll please God.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
