 pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Stop Looking To Blame Wednesday. Read John 9:2. In today’s Scripture, some people asked Jesus whose fault it was that this man was born blind. They were looking for somebody to blame. Some reason, some excuse. Jesus said, “It’s nobody’s fault. The reason he was born this way was so that the goodness of God could be displayed.” When something unfair happens, don’t get stuck looking for a reason, trying to find someone or something to blame. All that blaming is going to do is give you a reason to feel sorry for yourself. You’re not going to understand why everything happens. Nothing that’s happened to you is a surprise to God. He sees every wrong that’s been done to you and every disadvantage, and He is a God of justice. If you stay in faith, it won’t work against you, it will work for you. God will use it to show out in your life. He’ll take what was meant for your harm and use it to your advantage. PRAYER FOR TODAY: “Father, thank You for the abundance of Your goodness in my life. Thank You that nothing that’s happened to me is a surprise to You. Whatever I go through that might harm me, I know You will use to my advantage. I declare that You are a God of justice. | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Fear No More Friday. Read 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV - "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." One of the most crippling conditions you can find yourself in - is living in fear. It changes how you act, feel, think and simply put . . . can destroy you and drain all joy from your heart. And the sad thing is - fear will keep you from being the person God wants you to be. There is only one cure . . . and that is trusting in Jesus! God does not want His children to live in fear. The Bible says in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” And in Psalm 23:4, we’re told, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” If a loved one is in trouble - trust Jesus. If you’re struggling to pay bills - trust Jesus! If God is leading you in a new direction - go forward with faith and confidence that God has your back -in other words, in all things - do not be afraid - trust Jesus! He has promised to be right there with you - and God always keeps His promises! There’s no reason to be afraid if God is holding your hand! If you are finding it hard to ‘fear no more,’ - just claim this promise in Psalm 34:4, “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” And just like He did for David, God will deliver you . . . too! | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Miracles Out Of Mistakes Thursday. Read Genesis 17:20. “As for Ishmael…I will make him extremely fruitful and multiply his descendants…. I will make him a great nation.” Abraham and Sarah had God’s promise of a son, but they took matters into their own hands, and Abraham had a baby with Hagar, Sarah’s maid. Ishmael was a mistake and brought extreme strife to their home. Yet, God spoke to Abraham that even though it was a terrible mess, He would make Ishmael great. And amazingly, it was descendants of Ishmael who came along at precisely the right moment and kept Joseph, Abraham’s great grandson, from dying in the pit when his brothers betrayed him (see Genesis 37). The mistake of Abraham became the miracle of Joseph, who helped save the rest of their family. That’s how amazing God is. He knows how to bring good even when we fail and make a mess. God doesn’t turn His back when you make mistakes, just the opposite. He’ll not only help you clean up the mess you made, He’ll take it one step further and make miracles out of those mistakes. PRAYER FOR TODAY: “Father, thank You for being the amazing God who can take our messes and mistakes and turn them into miracles. Thank You that You never turn Your back on me. | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's No Class Distinctions Tuesday. Read Ephesians 5:2 NKJV "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." Jesus died on a cross to save us from our sins - because of His deep love for us! All throughout the Bible, God asks us to love each other-as He loves us! When Christ was here on earth, He set a wonderful example of how to live our lives - including how to "love!" Jesus loved everyone! He loved the dirtiest beggar in the street to the richest man in the land! He made no "class" distinctions when he gave a kind word, stopped to listen, or performed miracles. Every decision God makes . . . is made out of love! This should be our criteria as well. Before making a decision, we need to ask ourselves; "Is this motivated by love, or am I influenced by power because I have the right and the authority to make this decision?" In the judgment day, we will have to answer for every decision we make! The only way to know if we are making wise choices is if we are led by the Holy Spirit! We need to ask God for more love in our hearts! Decisions made for love’s sake will give us joy and happiness such as we have never known, and draw us even closer to Jesus! | pastortoni | Good Morning! It's Have An Attitude Of Gratitude Thursday. Read Psalm 90:14, NIV. "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days." If certain things in your life were just a little bit “better,” would you be happy? A better job, a better house, better health, better relationships? The truth is, it only takes one thing for you to be happy. It takes a made-up mind. That’s right, you have to decide that you are going to be happy regardless of your situation. You may have some obstacles to overcome, but don’t let that steal your joy. Begin each day thinking of all the things you have to be thankful for. Decide each morning to declare as David did, “This is the day the Lord has made. I’m going to rejoice, and be glad in it.” If you don’t get happy where you are, you will never get to where God wants you to be. It all begins with a grateful attitude. Let us encourage you to be content no matter what your circumstances.
