danie | In reply to @--c:matrix.org Within a new org one can try to limit or enforce the use of ‘alternatives’ like Element. However, in my experience I’ve found that users would often still create a whatsapp group on the side once things get going proper within the org 😕. Very true, but we're also seeing an emergence of the few in organisations who refuse to use WhatsApp, which has some new interesting challenges.
A reason also for using alternatives, is when an organisation is rigid about what is discussed on their platform. We always used to create an area for non-work discussion. And of course with Element, you could have private groups still created in Element that employers are not necessarily seeing. So Element could work well for all.
