@_slack_fatiando_UT0BDHKPE:matrix.org | Hi all, | 11:53:00 |
@_slack_fatiando_UT0BDHKPE:matrix.org | (edited) Hi all, => Hi all, I’m trying to reproduce this example <https://github.com/fatiando/harmonica/blob/prisms-layer/examples/forward/prisms_topo_gravity.py>, with the `prisms-layer` branch of Harmonica but when executing this command
`prisms = hm.prisms_layer( (south_africa_topo.easting, south_africa_topo.northing), surface=south_africa_topo.topography, reference=0, properties={"density": density})`
I have an error saying `2-dimensional boolean indexing is not supported.` I think the problem is in `properties={"density": density}` , and tried with `2670.0` instead of an array but this not resolved the problem.. santisoler did you had something similar, perhaps? | 12:02:33 |
@_slack_fatiando_UT0BDHKPE:matrix.org | It worked in the previous version… | 12:03:19 |
@_slack_fatiando_UT0BDHKPE:matrix.org | I just see that there is a basic exemple here that works…will try to start form there…. https://github.com/fatiando/harmonica/commit/c5152818a5d075778a8c9a14e18fa4b2d2bfc2e0#diff-070fa0a6a1fcaa8b6db94ca8[…]2342f9d0780c40b121839b2c0b774f | 12:07:51 |

@_slack_fatiando_UMFSBQVMG:matrix.org | Hi Lorenzo! Sorry for not updating that PR in a while, I had to move to a new place and haven't got connection for almost two weeks 😭 . I'm currently doing a course and won't have time during this week to work on it, but I hope I can resume it next week.
Regarding your problem, the error you're getting is usually related with xarray when trying to selecting some points of a array through a 2d boolean array. I think that's not currently supported in xarray. Nevertheless, nice catch! We should keep in mind this problem and add a test function to check we don't get it with expected inputs. | 14:53:55 |
@_slack_fatiando_UMFSBQVMG:matrix.org | (edited) ... to selecting some ... => ... to select some ... | 14:55:41 |
@_slack_fatiando_UT0BDHKPE:matrix.org | HI santisoler, no worry! Thanks for the update. I’found a way to make it work (transformed all in np array). I’m currently doing some test, especially for the size of the grid of prisms vs computation time…. | 14:56:30 |
@_slack_fatiando_UMFSBQVMG:matrix.org | Exactly, you can do it with Numpy! Nice! | 14:56:52 |

You might want to take a look at this: https://github.com/fatiando/harmonica/pull/205 👀 | 15:03:21 |

@_slack_fatiando_U0187SCC5FC:matrix.org | Hi All,
Is there a workflow for applying correction on small region gravity data? | 08:08:38 |

@_slack_fatiando_UMFSBQVMG:matrix.org | Hi Mohammad Kashkouli! What type of correction do you want to apply? | 14:19:29 |

Actually all of them. | 04:46:43 |
@_slack_fatiando_UMGLPTLAW:matrix.org | to start with you could use #boule:matrix.org to calculate the normal gravity at the station location and then apply a topography correction | 08:09:05 |
@_slack_fatiando_UMGLPTLAW:matrix.org | (edited) ... station location and then apply a topography correction => ... station location, subtract that from you observation and then apply a topography/terrain correction | 08:10:24 |
