Will Pittenger | * I expect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qIT8Eljsy4 (Live From the Clean Room - Building NEO Surveyor) to last about a week. Since Kodi remembers how much of a video you watched as a percentage, 1% of 168 hours is 1.68 hours. Not a precise way to do that. A number of seconds would be better. | 17:04:03 |

@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Not sure where this should go. I'm running Kodi on EndevourOS/KDE/Wayland and want to be able to change resolution while running Kodi. My main display is a projector, which is capable of 1080/240 and 2160/60.
I tried executing commands using Shell Script Launcher (https://github.com/wastis/ShellScriptLauncher), using kscreen-doctor. It works from a terminal, but they don't work when executed within Kodi. I get the expected output in the terminal Kodi is launched from but no resolution change. | 15:42:57 |
lrusak | sharkcheese: if you want resolution changing you shouldn't use wayland | 15:51:14 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Sure, but if I eventually want HDR then I'm going to need Wayland. | 15:51:43 |
lrusak | No | 15:51:50 |
lrusak | Just use kodi on gbm | 15:51:56 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Will I still have access to the desktop on other monitors while Kodi is running? | 15:52:58 |
lrusak | It supports resolution switching and HDR (somewhat) | 15:53:07 |
lrusak | In reply to @sharkcheese:matrix.org Will I still have access to the desktop on other monitors while Kodi is running? No, but why would you want to | 15:53:30 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | I have a dual monitor setup and like having access to chat while watching things sometimes. | 15:53:53 |
lrusak | Use another PC or your phone? | 15:57:43 |
lrusak | Or buy a raspberry Pi to run kodi on specifically? | 15:58:03 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Not particularly seamless, I might just get an AppleTV instead. | 15:59:11 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Wayland really needs some kind of res switching functionality. Might be edge case these days given most displays have fixed resolutions, but it sucks when you're the edge case. | 16:00:06 |
lrusak | It's not supported at the wayland protocol level | 16:08:38 |
@sharkcheese:matrix.org | I get that, but Wayland sticking steadfast to it's ideals is why it's taken over a decade for it to become useful. | 16:10:26 |

@sharkcheese:matrix.org | Figured out a solution, executing a terminal using a kodi script and running kscreen-doctor from that works. | 17:22:03 |

CutterX | Hi, will Kodi support trickplay images? | 14:06:00 |
lrusak | CutterX: what's that? | 14:31:05 |
