@neutronstar:matrix.orgneutronstar @sean I'm interested in the flight computer part, I have no knowledge in web development. For me the only time that works for teleconference is the time used by the other meetings. The day however is flexible as long as it doesn't collide with Coral or Lander meetings. 06:01:51
@drbriefs:matrix.orgsean neutronstar How would in-riot meetings work for you? Would you possibly also be interested in the spec writing side? It might also be worth getting in touch with the #spacedecentral-coral-lander:matrix.org group, as I believe they've started looking into flight software requirements for Coral 06:31:02
@neutronstar:matrix.orgneutronstar @sean I was the one initiating flight software/hardware discussion in the lander group. I also tried starting such discussion in this forum by suggesting software, but haven't been able to get much discussion going.
How does Riot-meetings work and how do they differ from Riot discussions or teleconferencing?
If you with spec writing mean software requirements, design specification and test specifications then I could help out with that. I can also help with development environment.

It'd be no different than a riot discussion.

That'd be great!

Hi @room
I have some proposals. First, satelites to bridge the communication between Moon and Earth through an CJDNS/Althea mesh network. These satelites could also provide meshnetworks bridge with clearnet, decentralizing Internet and making it accessible for people who live in poverty

Hi?

@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bDaniell i think we get comms for free with the lander. interesting idea though23:26:04
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bsean i'n not super sure we're at the spec-writing level yet. we could do sims like you said, and the sims would probably incorporate prototype flight software for power systems control etc23:28:20
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.b(also i love the "React/Javascript" phrase it reminds me of "GNU/Linux")23:29:28

Fair enough. Perhaps we can start with spec writing for what spacecraft behaviors we'd possibly like to simulate?
23:33:37
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bthe sintering part and power drain?23:35:35
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bi would also say any moving parts, but we haven't gotten that far on the manufacturing design side23:36:21

@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bcheck out this random video: john carmack = creator of DOOM and also founder of armadillo aerospace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcWRc1wK3gM00:05:10
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bso sean maybe a good sim starting point for the vehicle would be a battery sim. where you can have X sources and Y sinks. like it gets power from the vehicle and maybe solar panels, and supplies power to lots of things00:06:08
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.byou'd model maybe as a function of "dt" a timestep.00:07:22
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bset up initial conditions, and then have a function that calculates the derivative actually, so maybe you don't even know the timestmp00:08:15
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bpeople use something called Trick for simulation here, but that's um overkill00:08:42

@tmallard:matrix.orgtmallard For electricity are 3 non solar/battery sources, 1. Ace in the hole, a feedback genset from existing TRL 6+ motors and gensets. 2. Magnetic genset & calorie motor. 02:08:04
@tmallard:matrix.orgtmallard
  1. Direct current from the dirt.

@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.bSo these are all for lunar night?02:33:15
@pete.b:matrix.orgpete.b And I'm guessing you're avoiding batteries because they need a certain temperature to work, right? 02:35:15
@tmallard:matrix.orgtmallardNot really, the calorie motor supplies heat for nights by induction to a thermal fluid that can store 350C heat for later if needed, genset electricity both on the same stator-rotor, how much power do you expect?02:45:07
@daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell MesquitaHi @room I have some proposals. First, satelites to bridge the communication between Moon and Earth through an CJDNS/Althea mesh network. @daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell Mesquita(forwarded from governance room, and I'll forward the other messages I didn't posted here)05:52:34
@daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell MesquitaAlso, projects for terraforming Moon and Mars in a way community haves an open communication channel for discuss, report problems and develop solutions for a sustainable and secure changing on planets for making them habitable05:53:29
@daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell MesquitaAnother thing is about colonizing Antarctica, by using an structure that imitates the sun and other land aspects, while protecting from external cold05:54:50
@daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell MesquitaAbout that last (third), I did some draws on 2017/2018 and how it could reasonably work05:55:25
@daniellmesquita:matrix.orgDaniell MesquitaAbout the first, I have a project about mesh networks (also began writing/drawing it at 2017)05:55:51
@suzi.bianco:matrix.orgsuzi.bianco Hi @daniellmesquita:matrix.org , while I'm thrilled to see you sharing these here with us, we would like to encourage you and the entire community to share and discuss proposals in the forum (https://spacedecentral.net/forum) we know it's not a superb tool right now, but we'd like to see it grow and become the birthplace of awesome projects! 20:39:04
