@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz in this particular case there is no --help option 06:43:34
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz
$ drm_info --help
drm_info: invalid option -- '-'
usage: drm_info [-j] [--] [path]...
06:44:13
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzit exits with 0 though06:44:17
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz Not having a --help had me editing the manpage by hand :! 06:44:49
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido there's drm_info -? that prints the same help but exits with 0 06:46:19
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz --help also exits with 0, I think every unrecognized option does 06:47:27
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz whats isolation = vm? 06:47:53
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzok just a different type of isolation I assume (container vs vm vs chroot)?06:50:43
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido yes, the correct term is isolation-machine : see /usr/share/doc/autopkgtest/README.package-tests.rst.gz 06:52:10
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzthanks, I will look into it06:52:32
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido devrtz: i wouldn't bother atm since Debian doesn't run isolation-machine tests atm as far as i know. Another possibility would be to mock the calls with an LD_PRELOAD wrapper but i think that goes a bit far for such a simple tool. 06:59:22
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz In that case (isolation-machine set) the test will just be skipped I guess. For the superficial test to work I would need to 2>&1 because it prints on stderr 07:02:49
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz but at least that would be testing something 07:03:03
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzOr I think I will leave both tests in. In case the testbed evers provides the isolation07:04:42
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido

you can use allow-stderr in restriction
07:09:15
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido Restrictions: allow-stderr 07:10:23
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido a-wai: you were on libhandy-1 recently, just wanted to check i did not miss anything to upload? 08:50:24
@a-wai:matrix.orga-waiyou didn't miss anything, the packaging for the current version would work, but I'd rather wait for 0.83.0 (probably by the end of the week) as it should be a saner base, packaging-wise08:53:28
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz Guido: I have updated the chatty packaging, but I'm not 100% sure about the changelog, does it suffice putting a "updated to latest upstream" in there or should the changes from the upstream changelog also be included? Have a look here: https://salsa.debian.org/devrtz/chatty/-/blob/debian/master/debian/changelog 17:41:49

@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido a common pattern is * New upstream version x.y.z 17:44:36
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuidosome folks tend to summarize important changes, others link to a news file - that' s mostly up to the maintainer17:45:14
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzok i will see what i can do. regarding a new upload i guess that only makes sense after the last upload has been processed?18:01:59
@guido.gunther:talk.puri.smGuido devrtz: i can upload a new version nevertheless, it will be again stuck in new 18:22:49
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzOk, in that case I will test it on the PP, push it to the team repo and then give you a shout18:27:35
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzAlright, so I did a round of testing and everything seems fine. I have spared no expenses and even sent a test SMS!19:26:22
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtz I have just one question regarding gbp.conf (if you remember you proposed using downstream patterns). Now if I want to update the pristine-tar. I needed to specify the upstream tag like so: gbp buildpackage -us -uc --git-pristine-tar --git-pristine-tar-commit --git-upstream-tag='v%(version)s' should I reintroduce the upstream tag to gbp.conf? Am I missing something? 19:29:00
@devrtz:fortysixandtwo.eudevrtzIn any case: I've pushed it to the team repo https://salsa.debian.org/DebianOnMobile-team/chatty/-/tree/debian/master19:29:25
