@steve:ash.mnSteveI use the stainless steel kitchen scale by OXO and I have an instant digital read thermometer by thermoworks20:47:24
@steve:ash.mnSteveYou can get super fancy with scales that do fractions of grams but the one I use only goes to whole grams20:47:48
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffI personally use a kettle with a thermometer20:47:58
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffthey're quite cheap20:48:00
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffI set it on my stove and heat water20:48:14
@steve:ash.mnSteveMany people use electric kettles that let you set a specific temp20:48:20
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffit's usable as both a way to boil water for espresso and keep it at a good temp for drip20:48:26

Yeah these are ergonomically the easiest to use, but were more expensive than the stovetop versions so 😛

@gspbirel56:chrrreeeeesss.comchrrreeeeesssI do have a sous vide, maybe I could just plop it in a pan and let that go20:49:30
@gspbirel56:chrrreeeeesss.comchrrreeeeesssThanks for the suggestions, I'll have to get shopping!20:49:50
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffthat would probably work actually, but a lot of this stuff is just about convenience 20:50:00
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffan electric kettle is set an forget, dial the temp, pour the water, and it just works20:50:14
@meff:sunadokei.partymeffso your morning brew or busy brew/shot can be fast and easy 20:50:24
@gspbirel56:chrrreeeeesss.comchrrreeeeesssI like the idea of the kettle, that way you don't have to sit and watch the temp. I could maybe make the argument that it's worth the cost difference20:51:42
