23:02:20@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianThat should read when I enter wifi-menu, I only find one homeplug point.
23:18:11@jhfoo:matrix.orgjhfooIs your router in 5g ?
23:19:58@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianNo 2.4
23:22:02@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianAll other phones, laptops, stbs pick up the wifi from the box fine. Strange why it is not picking up the main signal in the house!!

00:01:03@salcedo:matrix.orgsalcedoThe pi has a tiny antenna
00:04:59@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianI am sitting right beside the router
00:05:06@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianStill no reception

00:39:39@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianThe pi picks up my mobile but not my router. Very strange!!
00:54:33@jhfoo:matrix.orgjhfooDo your u know what channel your router is on? Is that on g or n?

01:09:58@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianNot sure. Does that matter in setting up .conf files?
01:10:13@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianI think it is g.

00:48:38@jhfoo:matrix.orgjhfoo Sorry I don't have any clue why your g router cannot be seen by pi. That's an old protocol and implementation has been done to death. Have you tried other STDs like n?
00:50:15@jhfoo:matrix.orgjhfooIs it possible your router is actively rejecting the connection? When I connect/ disconnect too often my Netgear sometimes does that

09:52:14@lsjmhar:ubports.chatvivianNot sure. I have asked on the archlinuxarm forum so maybe I will get more insight. It is unusual that it picks up my phone and my wife's phone on hotspot and one homeplug. I have 3 homeplugs so this is strange. Maybe a fresh install will help!!
12:36:10@salcedo:matrix.orgsalcedo You mentioned the use of homeplugs. There is a slight chance that the issue is ineed RF interference. A lot of smart devices + using powerline ethernet in the home = strange things can happen to some devices that aren't as well equipped to defend themselves from an onslaught of EMI and crap power supply.
12:37:23@salcedo:matrix.orgsalcedoTry moving the pi to another room or changing its power source to see if that is the case.

Cheers. I will try that this evening. I will just turn off the plug attached to the router as this is a feeder for a plug I have in a home office outside.
