What do you seflhost?
Actually I turned all of it off last month 😆 but I was hosting ZNC and a couple of utility webpages, like a "never SSL" page and "what's my IP page". I also had set up a WebDAV thing to use for streaming music but couldn't figure out how to get MPD working w/ reverse proxy via Nginx, so I tabled that.
16:33:11
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampAt some point I plan to redo the setup with either Guix or Docker, it was getting a little messy16:33:30
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampThe network problem is that my wifi frequently stops working, the signal remains strong and I can log into the AP no problems, but webpages don't load, videos don't load, etc. I spent a while chasing down channel/radio things but I feel pretty confident that it's not a matter of interference.16:35:10
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampNot 100% sure it's even a wifi problem or if it's upstream at the router, or even something wrong w/ the coax cables in my house (which are probably 30 years old and pretty crusty and I think were installed DIY by a previous tenant)16:36:35
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampLots of uncorrectables at the modem (SB8200), I power cycled it and had hundreds on every channel within a few hours. That seems like it's not supposed to happen from what I've read16:37:07
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampNeed to block out some weekend time to follow the coax cables and figure out where they even come into the house, if there are any shorts, etc.16:37:34
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampthat's the rant anyway16:37:46
@hashborgir:mozilla.org🍄 HB🍄Oh wow man. That sounds quite involved.20:54:24

@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampDefinitely appreciated!01:55:06
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampI inadvertently did a nice A/B experiment today because I worked with my laptop plugged in via ethernet to my router, skipping the AP altogether. No problems w/ connection01:55:32
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampThat immediately makes me narrow it down to the AP after all, even if it's not a matter of wireless interference specifically01:55:52
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampOr however I configured the router to work with the AP...01:56:07
@salt_rock_lamp:catgirl.cloudsalt_rock_lampif anyone here is a mikrotik/routeros wizard I can definitely go into more detail :)01:56:20

I'm glad you figured some stuff out. I don't know microtik at all.
