@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.lubtw, the "Partecipate" button shortly shows when I load the page but immediately disappears, while I'm logged in as a member of the group publishing the event (feels weird)05:34:16
@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.luthat button (from anonymous window) brings me here: https://mobilizon.it/events/dd0010b1-c90b-4594-988d-eaa28298c48f/participate/with-account05:34:48
@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.luoh, "I have an account on another Mobilizon instance.", so it's only possible for Mobilizon users ?05:35:28
@hattori.hansa:systemli.orgMias changed their display name from MMM to Mias.18:33:27

Is it not possible to block a remote instance as an administrator?

I see that it is possible to block remote users but I don't see where to block the instance the user is from.

16:27:21
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedRemote instances may not be able to publish events if my instance doesn't follow them, but their users are still able to comment on events and on posts.16:28:29

@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.lueluioda: are you getting events-spam ?04:33:01
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedNo, and events spam is not my concern since I don't plan on following other instance. My concern would be for example a bad Mastodon instance with users spamming through direct messages or comments.08:39:24
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedThis has not happened, but the day it happens I want to have the necessary tools on hand08:39:54
@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.luif only blocking was a solution to spam :(08:40:20
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedIt's not a solution, it's a tool10:07:24
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedThe solution is active moderation, and this needs tools.10:07:43
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedCurrently for me spam is not a problem10:07:51
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedI just want to anticipate, and be ready10:08:00
@eluioda:matrix.orgsgued

That includes getting familiar with the moderation tools available to me, and to have as many as possible.

Other Fediverse software have the ability to ban entire instances, either as an instance admin or as a single user, I beleive there is a reason for that.

10:09:23
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedWell if it's not something that is currently supported by mobilizon, I will likely contribute it.10:09:54

If this would happen to our instance, as long as there is no direct instance blocking support in Mobilizon we would just add a firewall rule to forbid access from the spamming instances IP address (or even the whole network). That way you reduce the load of the Mobilizon instance itself. Blocking IP addresses or network ranges is much more efficient in a dedicated firewall in front of the instance itself, which is always a good idea.
10:30:52
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedYes, but it's also more likely to have false positives and is more complex to implement.11:23:33

We may want to work on moderation in general in the coming months.
If you can capture your needs/vision in an issue, it would be great material to build a backlog.

@eluioda:matrix.orgsgued

Yup, I'll open an issue, and maybe a basic implementation.

What triggered me to look for this feature is a #fediblock post getting on my mastodon timeline, suggesting blocking pre-emptively an instance (which based on the domain name was obviously bad). I was just surprised to not see it. I did not see any spam on my instance (it makes sense since pretty much no one is on my instance yet)

@kreibaum:matrix.org@kreibaum:matrix.orgHi, I just looked at https://mobilizon.org/de/ for the first time and would like to suggest some chances to the German translation. Is that possible on Weblate? I didn't see a category for the website there. Is that right? Where would I go to suggest changes?17:18:00
@kreibaum:matrix.org@kreibaum:matrix.orgLike, the tagline is essentially "organized, organize, to mobilize".17:21:11
@eluioda:matrix.orgsguedI think I saw something saying that the weblate was disabled or something...18:25:38

@strk:matrix.opencloud.lu@strk:matrix.opencloud.luI'm unable to find an address when adding a new event. This blocks the event despite me writing the address manually, is there anything I can do to fix this ?15:27:05
@setop:matrix.orgsetopon which instance are you trying ?15:59:42
