Maximus | synapse's behaviour changed since 0.99.4 it seems: https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/commit/1666c0696a8891d39fd308e38e1b9b0042cabe34 | 11:44:24 |
yogsi | Maximus: sorry, was afk | 12:07:40 |
yogsi | debian package | 12:07:45 |
Maximus | In reply to @max:kamax.io
yogsi: got a build for you to test the fix:
- Deb: https://matrix.kamax.io/download/mxisd/mxisd_1.4.3-6-g0ddd086_all.deb
- Docker:
kamax/mxisd:1.4.3-6-g0ddd086
Try this | 12:08:04 |
yogsi | will do | 12:08:36 |
yogsi | yep, looks ok now | 12:12:55 |
yogsi | thanks again | 12:15:01 |
Maximus | 👍 thank you for reporting the issue. v1.4.4 will come out today so you can install a proper release with the fix | 12:15:54 |
nato | Is there an easy way to get mxisd to log to its own logfile? My syslog is just flooded with matrix federation crap so I can't find anything useful about mxisd :( | 12:19:53 |
Maximus | nato: There is no easy way, and the only way is not supported. You need to set the JVM option org.slf4j.simpleLogger.logFile as per SimpleLogger doc I would instead advise to disable synapse logging to syslog (as it also log to its own file, duplicating logs) and/or use journalctl on mxisd | 12:22:25 |

nato | Cheers guys | 12:28:02 |
nato | pretty happy, it's all working correctly | 12:50:56 |
nato | logs say 3pid mapping found correctly | 12:51:23 |

nato | One thing i did notice, my username has a capital letter at the start... and linux is well known gor being case sensitive haha | 12:52:32 |
nato | for* | 12:52:38 |
nato | so i wonder if that will ever cause an issue | 12:52:48 |
Maximus | It might, upper case characters are not legal in Matrix Ids | 12:53:45 |
Maximus | mxisd is quite lenient about it in general, but that kind of Matrix ID is not supported | 12:54:21 |
nato | fair enough. It should be lower case in AD anyway so i can fix it up there | 12:55:46 |
nato | I'm really hoping matrix takes off. I would love to be able to roll this out and replace Skype For Business one day | 13:02:41 |
Atreatis | nato: trust me I've been running XMPP Servers for 8 years and seen everyone moving to either Matrix or just die off :) | 13:07:26 |
Atreatis | But let's stay on topic in this channel :) | 13:07:37 |
Maximus | Release v1.4.4
@room Another maintenance release for mxisd!
This release fixes an invalid response as per spec which was highlighted by a change in synapse behaviour since 0.99.4, and broken HTML in the built-in 3PID notification templates. Other minor fixes/changes/log improvements are also part of this release. Given the spec breakage, we highly recommend you update. If not, you won't be able to bind 3PIDs with synapse >= 0.99.4
