@max:kamax.ioMaximusa 3PID session being created17:59:29
@max:kamax.ioMaximusan a 3PID invite17:59:44
@eggy:eggy.ccMatt (eggy)hrm, I'm not sure what end this is on, but I'm trying to invite an email address that isn't registerd. Shouldn't this cause an email invite to go out?18:03:43
@eggy:eggy.ccMatt (eggy)hrm, I think I need to configure something18:05:03
@max:kamax.ioMaximus Matt (eggy): yes it should, if you configure the email SMTP settings 18:07:57
@max:kamax.ioMaximusand if the invite is not resolved to a Matrix ID. If it is, then nothing will be sent18:08:27
@eggy:eggy.ccMatt (eggy)Apr 27 14:11:25 matrix mxisd[5555]: [XNIO-1 task-10] ERROR io.kamax.mxisd.http.undertow.handler.SaneHandler - Transaction #1556388685733 - No DNS client override for matrix.eggy.cc18:12:02
@max:kamax.ioMaximushttps://github.com/kamax-matrix/mxisd/blob/master/docs/troubleshooting.md#internal-server-error18:12:38
@eggy:eggy.ccMatt (eggy)this seems to be part of the problem, I think I need to fix dns18:13:15
@max:kamax.ioMaximusand in this case, you missed a documentation step somewhere18:13:22
@max:kamax.ioMaximuswhatever feature you are trying to use, the configuration/integration is incomplete18:13:44
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fiPreliminary inquiry: Glancing through the new registration docs, but I'm not sure this possible: new user (tries to) register, server admins get an notification or something, then we accept registration or not18:14:06
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.firest I've gatered how to figure out (requiring email for example)18:14:28
@max:kamax.ioMaximusNot possible with mxisd, no18:14:35
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fimm.. I do see whitelisting etc, but this isn't exactly fitting in our case sadly18:15:09
@max:kamax.ioMaximusmxisd features will always remain in the scope of Identity, which is about 3PID mapping or using 3PID data18:15:44
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fianyway, good stuff, as usual, even when can't allways have everything ASAP :P18:15:51
@max:kamax.ioMaximusThanks :)18:16:12
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fimm well otherwise new system seems quite fitting, "only" thing that we'd need some other thing than direct white/blacklisting of emails (domains)18:16:56
@max:kamax.ioMaximusyou need a Homeserver that is not made to be a public one, like synapse18:17:25
@max:kamax.ioMaximusAt the rate we're progressing, Gridepo will be able to do what you want this year18:17:44
@eggy:eggy.ccMatt (eggy)this is stupid, the electron riot client is using matrix.eggy.cc as its homeserver, causing me some issues18:18:37
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fiOur use case is kind of even more fun than average public/private server.. We cater for every (willing and/or wanting, ofcourse) hackerspace in Finland, so users email could be whatever still.. but we can't afford to be open in the sense anyone could register :)18:20:23
@max:kamax.ioMaximusyep :)18:20:47
@max:kamax.ioMaximusAll I can tell you is: keep an eye on Gridepo, your use case is like my top-priority use case18:21:10
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fi..and yes, not specifically exactly mxisd problem, while nbew stuff almost caters for that already too :D18:21:28
@olmari:hacklab.fi@olmari:hacklab.fiwe will :)18:21:44
@max:kamax.ioMaximusmxisd can only do so much as an Identity server, and synapse is not going in a direction you need to any time soon, given what I'm seeing18:21:55
@max:kamax.ioMaximusbut I'll be very interested to work with you to setup something better with Gridepo18:22:14
