Ye Li | Hi everyone! I am Ye Li, a junior undergraduate at Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China. I just came across GSoC and was immediately attracted by OpenAstronomy. As a student in physics major and a programming enthusiast, I have a strong interest in astronomy and AI4Science. I'm especially interested in Astronomical data enhancement with DL. I would very much love to join OpenAstronomy and make contributions! By the way, are there any approaches to get in touch with mentors to discuss specific proposals? Many thanks! | 16:28:01 |

Shoubaneh Hemmati | In reply to @matixx2b7e:matrix.orgHi Li, great to hear about your interest. I am not sure but there's a toy exercise (https://github.com/fornax-navo/fornax-demo-notebooks/issues/243.) you can try. Also let us know if there's specific questions you might have. | 02:17:07 |
Shoubaneh Hemmati | Hi Ying, in proposal I would look for familiarity with DL, overall technical proficiency, etc. Its ok (to me at least) if the proposal is not covering the astro concepts fully or accurately. And at the end one would choose the one closest to the skillsets needed. Hope this helps. | 02:20:02 |
Shoubaneh Hemmati | Hi Venkatesh, glad to see your interest. Please feel free to try https://github.com/fornax-navo/fornax-demo-notebooks/issues/243. if interested and include in your proposal your related skillset or previous projects. | 02:21:58 |
Ye Li | In reply to @xoubish:matrix.orgThanks for the reminder! I'll work on the project as soon as possible! | 07:09:03 |

Vinay Rawat | Hey everyone! I am Vinay currently pursuing my Masters from Christ University, Bangalore. I came through GSoC recently and was very much fascinated by Open Astronomy Ideas list. As a student from Data science Background i have worked in Different ML/DL projects and want to contribute towards "Astronomical data enhancement with DL". I believe working on this project will help me in my future Career. | 18:46:14 |
DavidPS | Welcome Vinay Rawat: for that project, there's an exercise required to do. You can ask there whichever questions you might have. | 23:51:03 |
DavidPS | Hi Ye Li: regarding feedback on the proposals, you should share a link here for the mentors or other developers to provide feedback. We don't like when we are approached individually. | 23:53:38 |

bsipocz | Hello 👋 I would encourage anyone planning to submit a proposal to start uploading it to the official https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com portal. You should be able to keep modifying it until the deadline, but honestly that and sending the link here are the most reasonable ways to share it with the admins and mentors before the deadline. | 04:46:27 |
DavidPS | For the sunpy project you should go to #sunpy:openastronomy.org - previous astronomy knowledge is not required. | 09:12:02 |
troyraen | For the project "Enable Dask execution of NASA time-domain analysis", I have posted a comment on the related github issue clarifying the expected tasks. | 22:31:18 |

Ye Li | Hi! Apologize for my previous inappropriate way of contact. I'm not sure about the "Project Technologies" and "Project Topics" section in the application. Should we fill out the same as all those listed by OpenAstronomy or pick out specific technologies for our projects? Moreover, here's a link to my proposal. Please review it when you are free. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/document/d/10tGeZVhRheSYkcMVUrLL5c8Ia4cOT-vAZT6gIwFAUIY/edit?usp=sharing | 20:27:31 |

Venkatesh Patnaik | In reply to @xoubish:matrix.orgApologies for the delayed response ma'am. I was preoccupied with prior commitments at my university, including ongoing midterm examinations. Rest assured, I will promptly go through the starter problem. | 12:41:54 |
