shamb0 | In reply to @brenzi:matrix.org We have delivered M8.1 of our scalability roadmap. This work has been funded by the Polkadot treasury. Please try our tutorial for direct invocation. No need for special HW Hello Brenzi,
May be noob question, like to try the tutorial How to Perform Direct Transactions.
Like to clarify on HW requirements my workstation is based on AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor is it possible to run
worker node on my workstation ?
Post mentions No need for special HW but tutorial writeup mentions requirement for Dell PowerEdge R340 Server . is it mandatory to have Dell PowerEdge R340 Server , any Virtualization possibilities for non intel chipset ?

brenzi | integritee & encointer | shamb0 : In order to run our demo in SW mode you don't need any special HW, you can even use docker. But in order to run a real worker, you need an Intel CPU with SGX enabled. The R340 is known to work, but there are plenty of options | 08:35:54 |
shamb0 | Thanks Brenzi, good to know about SW mode, may be quickly I try demo using docker. | 08:39:27 |
shamb0 | I hope I need to follow below links, to bringup demo using docker in SW mode, Am I right ?
https://www.substratee.com/howto_node.html?highlight=docker#with-docker
https://www.substratee.com/howto_worker.html?highlight=docker#using-docker | 08:42:26 |
brenzi | integritee & encointer | yes. it could be confising that there are many options. docker yes/no, SW mode yes/no. You could run everything in the same docker in SW mode like explained for encointer. just use the substraTEE commands instead of encointer | 08:50:15 |
shamb0 | Cool thanks for pointer 👍️ | 08:56:23 |
