svitozar | Hey,
How do you track the device location?
I see one can "Import devices from gpx (Nextcloud Maps) or kml/kmz (Google Timeline) file", however PhoneTrack app does not allow to my knowledge dumping last known location to a given file fith fixed name.. | 15:12:03 |
Andrew | I'm not sure PhoneTrack works seamlessly with Maps yet. I track my location using the PhoneTrack Android app and I can then view the location history on the PhoneTrack Nextcloud app. | 15:47:35 |
Andrew | You might need to ask the question on the Maps forum since this Matrix room hasn't seem to have gained any traction yet. | 15:48:59 |

Thomas | Hi everyone, making my first foray into NextCloud and playing around with Maps. I managed to get my photos showing, but now I am stuck with my tracks. After running
sudo -u http php /usr/share/webapps/nextcloud/occ maps:scan-tracks
the tracks show in the left hand menu, but when I select anyone I only end up with a spinning wheel. Is there anything else, beside the occ command wich needs to be done? It's been like this for 2 days or so.

Andrew M | Welcome Jo Aubele . It's pretty quiet in here. Doesn't seem like this Matrix room idea for real-time chat ever took off with the core Maps developers. Anything I might be able to help with? | 23:17:40 |

Andrew | It's really cool that there is the ability to get directions, but if you haven't used open source map directions before, you should know it doesn't quite compete with the all-knowing Father Google. This is not praise of Google at all, just stating a fact in case you are relying on good directions for something important. | 02:31:01 |

Yep. :smug: I made my old Nexus 5 into a UBPorts device with a data only SIM from Google fi and have had to find ways to make those mapping apps work. I'm waiting for a Librem 5 too. | 03:24:17 |
