@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grboris the user getting the above error , gets this with login-cookie : Failed to log in: Found empty fb_dtsg, the session was probably invalid. 13:06:21
@tulir:maunium.nettulirthat either requires approving from the browser or the cookies were invalid13:06:47
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grborishmm ok 13:07:03
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grboris I will keep that in mind. So login should not be used at no case ? 13:07:24
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grborisenabling 2fa > login-cookie > review through browser > refresh : works correctly ❤️ 16:32:17
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grboris can the session that I got the xs be lost from the bridge side ? 16:33:06
@gergely:horvath.clubGergely So there is the following situation: some messages are missed, but the bot does not recognizes it. I send a message, than start suspecting that something is off. I send refresh to the bot which it does and everything goes back, however the missed messages are not backfilled, as the lat messages is newer than they 18:04:53
@gergely:horvath.clubGergelyCan I tune something in the config? Or it is not supported yet? Am I right to think that it would require the bridge to store the messages as well?18:07:20
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grborisI just found out that when sending from messenger app to a pm, element does not sync the messages I send, but correcly receives the messages from others 19:26:42
@olmari:hacklab.fiSami Olmari boris: a) why would you use messenger app? but more importantly, b) use login-matrix 20:12:28

boris: a) why would you use messenger app? but more importantly, b) use login-matrix
Can you please tell me how that works?
20:21:35
@olmari:hacklab.fiSami Olmariit logs the bridge instance onto your matrix, in order to be able to do puppeting to other way too...20:22:33
@olmari:hacklab.fiSami Olmariwiki also has small explanation... https://github.com/tulir/mautrix-facebook/wiki/Authentication20:23:12
@pkarpesis:chat.avlikos.grborisThank you!20:25:37

IIRC the bridge explicitly does not backfill if the message(s) to be backfilled isn't the latest in chat

@gergely:horvath.clubGergelyThank you! I think, that tulir also mentioned it earlier. 🤔 However, I would still love to know wheter it is something that wasn't considered, or it would be too much work so it is at the end of the queue, or is it ultimately off the table for some technical reason that I'm unaware of?21:12:56

There is no support in Matrix for this. Backfilling is implemented by sending new messages with spoofed timestamps, not sending old messages
07:28:38
@vojta001:vkane.czvojta001At least this is what they told me after asking exactly the same question07:28:58
@gergely:horvath.clubGergelyAh, so resending would screw up the order of messages 🤔07:31:09
@vojta001:vkane.czvojta001 That would depend on the client as far as I know. Each message carries the information which message was the last one you knew about at the time you sent it. All the backfilled messages would therefore be clearly marked as send after the message you sent in reaction to them, just with an older timestamp. This corresponds to the scenario when your clients time is off or your home server's connection is crappy. As far as I can tell it depends on the client whether it will respect the timestamps for sorting or whether it will sort the messages based on the which one was the previous one information. 07:59:28
