@laolux:wolkendienst.dynv6.netlaoluxHi, does anyone know how I can invite another matrix user to a conversation I have via the facebook bridge? Whenever I invite the matrix user he immediately gets kicked with the message "Reason: You are not logged in to this Facebook Messenger bridge."06:00:55

@olmari:hacklab.fiSami Olmarimautrix-facebook is "puppeting only" bridge, and by that it means user needs to be logged in to facebook with the bridge11:02:59
@cos:hacklab.ficostechnically you could use your account as relaybot, but it's not implemented11:38:49

@github:maunium.netGitHub [tulir/mautrix-facebook] treethought opened issue #140: container fails to start with matrix-docker-ansible-deploy

This is probably related to the recent removal of alembic, but I am unable to start mautrix-facebook by enabling it in the matrix-docker-ansible-deploy playbook.

 Unable to start service matrix-mautrix-facebook.service: Job for matrix-mautrix-facebook.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
 See "systemctl status matrix-mautrix-facebook.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

journalctl -xe

synapse matrix-mautrix-facebook[30822]: docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:370: starting container process caused: exec: "alembic": executable file not found in $PATH: unknown.

@github:maunium.netGitHub [tulir/mautrix-facebook] tulir closed and commented on issue #140: container fails to start with matrix-docker-ansible-deploy:

Not related to the bridge and already fixed in the playbook

@laolux:wolkendienst.dynv6.netlaoluxI see, thanks. So I will stick to the good old copy and paste for now :-)03:16:57

@mizlan:matrix.orgmizlanDo I need to set up my own homeserver to use this?06:29:04
@olmari:hacklab.fiSami Olmari mizlan: if you want to setup one, yes, or if you can find some server that allows usage for you, then that (I don't know any existing) 06:43:54
@laolux:wolkendienst.dynv6.netlaoluxNot necessarily, but you need the cooperation from the homeserver operator.07:20:29
@laolux:wolkendienst.dynv6.netlaoluxSee step 6 of Production setup: https://docs.mau.fi/bridges/python/setup/index.html07:21:19
@cos:hacklab.ficosI think https://www.beeperhq.com/ has this bridge08:28:16

@matt:nullbocks.commattThis might be a dumb question. Does the bot account need to be created manually once the bridge is installed?14:17:45

@wojciech:r23s.euirthHi, I'm wondering about end-to-bridge encryption. Can the bridge decrypt historical messages stored in the database?16:30:37
@wojciech:r23s.euirthI know it needs to be able to decrypt the messages it receives, but after it passess them on, is it possible to still decrypt them using the keys that the bridge has?16:31:17
@wojciech:r23s.euirththis is more of a general question, not facebook specific16:32:20
@github:maunium.netGitHub [tulir/mautrix-facebook] tohojo opened issue #141: Re-sending outgoing messages after reconnect

After a connection failure and reconnect, messages that were sent from the homeserver to the bridge are not retried (backfilling in the other direction works well enough). Could the backfill be made to work in both directions?

@thwmakos:matrix.thwmakos.xyzthwmakosHello and thanks for the work on your amazing bridges! The only question I have is whether the bridge can display the facebook's users names, instead of showing @facebook_xxxxx:homeserver.url. 19:28:01
