+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | If you can, post to GitHub. This is where all the Odysee devs hang out and will see your findings. https://github.com/OdyseeTeam/chainquery/issues | 10:11:50 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Ahh. Thanks for the update Tom. And it was Ren that filed it too. | 14:50:03 |

+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | I'm just going off public information. I have no insider information. So we can only assume everything is OK and something exciting will happen. What that is, is anyones guess. | 11:29:40 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Yeah, Odysee was a massive boost to LBRY. Now LBRY is in the hands of the community, the community need to step it up a gear and make it a true decentralised network, which also mean making the LBRY Foundation decentralised, rather than being a registered business. Part of the issue though, is that many in the community were only interested in it when it was run by a centralised entity (LBRY Inc). Now they are gone, the community is only a fraction of what it was. This should be the most exciting time for LBRY supporters. We need to rally more troops and get the excitement back. LBRY is basically a finished product, so it just needs maintaining and distributing. The app could do with a make over to something more modern, but other than that, it's plain sailing. | 11:47:26 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Itβs peer-to-peer so hosting shouldnβt be a massive issue if itβs popular. Obviously itβs convenient having a CDN serving users, but thatβs not really in the spirit of a decentralised platform. Although having decentralised nodes certainly helps. Same goes for being a business. Itβs not really in the spirit of being decentralised and can introduce many complexities, especially around government regulations and politics and internal business politics, not to mention the complexities of being involved with money and who makes those decisions in a decentralised community. And can a platform become resistant to becoming compromised because of money. | 11:58:10 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Yeah, no harm in having fallback I guess, just as long as the system doesn't become dependant on it. I think LBRY'S biggest challenge, is being an app. Most people want websites, which is why Odysee was so successful. My idea had always been, to make LBRY it's own web browser, or to use a plugin/extension, so it can be used in a browser. That would be my number one mission as a community dev. | 12:05:16 |

+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Yeah. The only downside, is that means a lot more people required to build and maintain. It was even tough for LBRY Inc to cope with all that, and required a lot of funding. But if the community gets big enough, why not. | 12:09:03 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | That would be excellent. I'm part of a 100% community run project. No ICO, no pre-mine, no anything. Everyone is a volunteer. At one point, just before the big bear market, we were almost a top 100 coin. So it can be done. People like to be a part of something that has meaning. That project is privacy focused, so in a way it's the same ethos as LBRY, with its free speech. Both are fundamental human rights we need to fight to keep alive, which are topics people are willing to get behind. | 12:15:12 |
+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | And on that note. I have to get something on that project finished before the deadline in 48 hours. So I'll be gone for a while, but still here at the same time. See you later π | 12:17:38 |

Amaterasu Solar | If ever You need any graphic design, let Me know. I would be happy to volunteer for that! | 17:11:22 |
Amaterasu Solar | For all that, email help@odysee.com and be dure to give as much data as You can. Just know, You will get an automatic reply, but a real Person will get back with You in a few hours to a day, depending on volume. | 18:51:05 |

miko | No, I don't think there currently is. | 11:43:53 |
miko | Yeah, it's also been asked about few times earlier, so people are aware of feature like that missing. But there is currently no ETA for something like that being implemented. | 11:46:19 |
miko | Here is link to a working invite, https://chat.lbry.com, there is a thread for how to fix in support section | 14:01:24 |

miko | Copied the message from there, current work around is to make app use Odysee's hubs. You can try to connect to some Odysee hub for now. Add this to daemon_settings.yml | 14:04:57 |

+ π π π ΄ π π ΄ π Ύ | Thanks. I was Head LBRYian there several years ago and helped create the Foundation with Jeremy before its inception. However, I don't align with how it's currently run, so it's not a place I'd be comfortable operating in. I am active in other LBRY communities though. I do like the new crop of people in the Foundation though, so the future is looking good. As for the other project I'm involved with, it's called Pirate Chain. A very controversial name, especially as it's a "human rights" based project. But despite the name, it's one of the most important projects around. The core devs are cor devs from Zcash, Komodo, Monero and other major project. We are tightly linked with Qortal and Komodo still. It's not a DAO, it's 100% community run with no centralised governing body. It's 100% volunteerism. We are even debating whether or not to have a donation area on the new website, which I'm launching today. We'll, I already did (on a new, not public, domain name), but it's not officially announced yet, due to a redirect issue from the old site that wasn't using correct permalink protocols. Which is what I'm trying to fix right now. The reason the project is 100% volunteerism, is that having any relationship with money, makes you a target. Which was highlighted when the SEC went after LBRY. It's a project built on passion and freedoms, not greed and lust. That's our current-sea! No fake, printed out of thin air fiat required! However, if anyone in the community wants to reward people for their efforts, they can and do, but it's not part of the projects structure, it's purely a personal decision people make via their own volition. | 09:42:28 |
