Now LBRY is in the hands of the community, the community need to step it up a gear and make it a true decentralised network, which also mean making the LBRY Foundation decentralised, rather than being a registered business. Part of the issue though, is that many in the community were only interested in it when it was run by a centralised entity (LBRY Inc). Now they are gone, the community is only a fraction of what it was. This should be the most exciting time for LBRY supporters. We need to rally more troops and get the excitement back. LBRY is basically a finished product, so it just needs maintaining and distributing. The app could do with a make over to something more modern, but other than that, it's plain sailing. | 11:47:26 |

Obviously it’s convenient having a CDN serving users, but that’s not really in the spirit of a decentralised platform. Although having decentralised nodes certainly helps. Same goes for being a business. It’s not really in the spirit of being decentralised and can introduce many complexities, especially around government regulations and politics and internal business politics, not to mention the complexities of being involved with money and who makes those decisions in a decentralised community. I think LBRY'S biggest challenge, is being an app. Most people want websites, which is why Odysee was so successful. At one point, just before the big bear market, we were almost a top 100 coin. So it can be done. People like to be a part of something that has meaning. That project is privacy focused, so in a way it's the same ethos as LBRY, with its free speech. Both are fundamental human rights we need to fight to keep alive, which are topics people are willing to get behind. | 12:15:12 |

| eTron 📟#1111 | Thanks. I was Head LBRYian there several years ago and helped create the Foundation with Jeremy before its inception. However, I don't align with how it's currently run, so it's not a place I'd be comfortable operating in. I am active in other LBRY communities though. I do like the new crop of people in the Foundation though, so the future is looking good. As for the other project I'm involved with, it's called Pirate Chain. A very controversial name, especially as it's a "human rights" based project. But despite the name, it's one of the most important projects around. The core devs are cor devs from Zcash, Komodo, Monero and other major project. We are tightly linked with Qortal and Komodo still. It's not a DAO, it's 100% community run with no centralised governing body. It's 100% volunteerism. We are even debating whether or not to have a donation area on the new website, which I'm launching today. We'll, I already did (on a new, not public, domain name), but it's not officially announced yet, due to a redirect issue from the old site that wasn't using correct permalink protocols. Which is what I'm trying to fix right now. The reason the project is 100% volunteerism, is that having any relationship with money, makes you a target. Which was highlighted when the SEC went after LBRY. It's a project built on passion and freedoms, not greed and lust. That's our current-sea! No fake, printed out of thin air fiat required! However, if anyone in the community wants to reward people for their efforts, they can and do, but it's not part of the projects structure, it's purely a personal decision people make via their own volition. | 09:42:28 |
