serely | hi everyone | 23:39:23 |
serely | I've read a lot of incredible bad reviews about Gutenberg release. However, from my point of view, it is not so bad. So I'd like to ask : why are they so mad at Gutenberg ? | 23:42:27 |

artkon | Sry, offline for some days ...
After playing around with it a bit, I can see that the tool does what it is supposed to do. However, the functionality is much smaller than the normal page builders like Elementor etc..
I believe that many (especially professional) users don't want to explain the principle of the blocks to their customers, because they don't pay for them either. Others, on the other hand, almost always defend themselves against anything new. 😕😕 | 18:55:52 |

serely | Thank you ! I was afraid of missing something important. With some bundle like Kadence Tools and its row extension, I really have something more lighter than Elementor, and quicker too.I have made some research since saturday. It appears that some users paid for addons which are not Gutenberg friendly for the moment. The addons developpers should be accused but no, they prefer to criticize Gutenbgerg. | 04:56:26 |

vancha112 | is it possible to "migrate" pages from one site to another just by copying the pages table from the database from one site to another? | 10:27:50 |
vancha112 | replacing every link of course :) | 10:28:05 |

serely | I did not test this way. You can use the wordpress export tool in the admin board and choosing to export only pages. While you are in your new site, juste "import" with the same tool the xml file and let's go ;) | 23:33:44 |

artkon | In reply to @vancha112:matrix.org is it possible to "migrate" pages from one site to another just by copying the pages table from the database from one site to another? Interesting question; any experiences yet? | 10:55:01 |
vancha112 | Yes i do :) it failed miserably (at least my attempt), but i succesfully cloned a site using a hosting control panel. | 11:08:41 |
artkon | In reply to @vancha112:matrix.org Yes i do :) it failed miserably (at least my attempt), but i succesfully cloned a site using a hosting control panel. To be honest, that's what I expected. Have you tried the WordPress Import/Export tool before using the control panel? | 11:10:46 |
vancha112 | Multiple times, it never really worked without breaking the site for me | 11:11:29 |
artkon | Yop, it's a pain to correkt all changes by hand, especially in the database .... this is why I use staging utilities when I have to transfer a website to another hoster. | 13:07:58 |
