@wiktor:stratum0.orgwiktoror run arch in a container... generate key there... export private keys... import in your daily comp :D10:05:20
@AppAraat:matrix.orgAppAraathmm, good idea. I wonder if they'd be compatible...10:13:43
@wiktor:stratum0.orgwiktormost likely they will, the on disk format is pretty stable to change with a patch number :)10:17:16
@AppAraat:matrix.orgAppAraatok, so it's the same on Ubuntu 20.04 which has GPG v2.2.19 ...will now continue to test it under Manjaro (because I'm too lazy to bother setting up Arch from scratch ;))15:04:18
@AppAraat:matrix.orgAppAraatI wish Antergos would still be around.15:04:33

@g:1312.media@g:1312.mediahi, i'm looking to improve my UX/workflow with gpg. i'm a programmer with access to a good set of tools (nixos, nix, perl, bash, build servers, rust. i can even do some c++ but that would have to wait for the weekend) - any ideas? pointers?12:51:14
@g:1312.media@g:1312.mediaalso, what are some good ideas for putting into the comment of a UID in this day and age?13:17:49

Role keys seem like the one legitimate use.

I think there might be more, especially as multiple hats and roles are becoming more common.

The other dimension is having a multi-layered identity

@finlaydag33k:finlaydag33k.nlAroop Roelofswell... I honestly don't really use GPG in my own workflow that often... only for SSH but that's it... I mainly wish more apps would add GPG support for their stuff... like my git client for example doesn't support it :\ 13:59:13
