@telegram_705409108:corepaper.orgSussi (Telegram) /We're keen to discuss running a scalable OnFinality RPC node API service for Kulupu. We currently do this for most parachain teams and it provides a load balanced endpoint that eliminates barriers of entry of your users accessing Kulupu.

We manage all the nodes for our users and distribute them across the world (with intelligent routing) to achieve global scalability from day 1, we monitor each node and ensure that they meet certain service levels, and we have the expertise and scale to handle production workloads and high peak traffic.

Can I send a proposal or jump on a call to discuss?

Yes Michael, I think that we're definitely interested in your services in the future! The project is in a state of hibernation right now. Wei Tang is the only developer working on it, it's his hobby horse. He has said that he has personal issues and that he probably won't be able to work on Kulupu in the whole year of 2022. It's also because there is a lack of developers at Parity and Moonbeam. He is in charge of Frontier (EVM integration) and also audits a lot of code from the rest of the Parity team.

Shawn Tabrizi is also not putting any work in like he did in the past. There were plans to start a testnet but everything has come to a halt. Wei is not answering questions in the chat as well.

So let's hope there can be a partnership in the future!

@telegram_726084113:corepaper.orgJunte (Telegram)That’s okay. My view of what you and Coinstore could do for the project, is that you (partly) take over hosting the chat and managing the community with fun activities. Let me send out a warning that Wei Tang is the owner of the Discord, the official tg, Twitter etc. He doesn’t respond to me and has done so for the last half year. You surely can achieve more with your team. But you basically need to earn your efforts through pumping the coin. Wei and the current community (if there’s still much of it left) don’t want to engage in pumping. Primarily also because of the subsequent dumping. Is Kulupu a fixer upper? Yes it is. The narrative was always around development. There hasn’t been any. You and Coinstore should ask yourself if after enlarging community engagement and a pump, you can bring actual development in. This development needs to be audited and merged by Wei Tang. It’s tricky, you see.14:16:03
@telegram_726084113:corepaper.orgJunte (Telegram)Kulupu is its own blockchain and is similar to Polkadot. It's built using the same framework called Substrate. This framework uses building blocks named pallets. The uniqueness is that Kulupu uses proof of work with the same algorithm as Monero. Development needs to be done in updating the miner and updating the pallets to the latest Substrate version. If all is updated, we'd need a testnet so developers can test smart contracts. Most of the code is Rust and it is still niche. Otherwise we would have more developers coming to Substrate and the company behind it called Parity. If Parity had more high quality developers, Wei Tang would have more time to spend and could easily find devs to help him. Polkadot has a huge growth of developers but the majority in the blockchain industry are Solidity devs. So I foresee more interest in the future for Kulupu. It's hard to push things you know. Teams/ egos tend to start their own projects with their own vision.18:30:54
@telegram_726084113:corepaper.orgJunte (Telegram)The long term goal of Polkadot is to be self-sustaining, being able to pay for its development using DOT. Most projects start with Venture Capital backing and Kulupu did not. It needs to be self sustainable from day 1. This is the difficulty. A similar difficulty that other open source software faces. It is dependent on spending or volunteering.18:49:01

You can check this if there's something you like to work on. The docs are outdated also. You can get paid in KLP tokens. The council can reward your work and you can also give an assessment of the time you spent on it. You won't be paid in advance for now. Once you have proven you contribute in a meaningful way, we can arrange for regular payments.

You must be a self starter and be able to work independently. Don't see it as a full time job for now, just a couple of hours per week.

@telegram_726084113:corepaper.orgJunte (Telegram) Poll: Do we want to spend 15% of mining rewards on people locking their tokens? The total amount of coins that can be locked is limited and people would need to compete to take part. https://github.com/paritytech/substrate/blob/master/frame/gilt/src/lib.rs
  1. Yes perfect 🤩 would love to take part, wen gilt?
  2. Can’t we think of doing something better? (Tell in the comments)

Is the proposal to increase the faucet drip meant to allow non-KLP holders to acquire KLP to then be able to mint these native NFTs? I was trying to check out commonwealth but there is nothing about the reasoning behind this proposal (not that I disagree with it, I’m just curious as to why).

@telegram_726084113:corepaper.orgJunte (Telegram)Yes I want to give people that are still interested in the project and use the faucet more since the mc is so low. It would be awesome if we can increase the holder base and attract new people if I can get the ascii / haiku nft stuff to work.17:41:13
