Solution for GitLab: LFS objects are missing. Ensure LFS is properly set up or try a manual "git lfs push --all".

If you get this error while pushing up to your fork of polaris, here's how to fix it:

• install lfs locally: https://git-lfs.github.com/, or check your distro's documentation
• In the root of your local repo, run git lfs install
• Run git config lfs.https://gitlab.com/[YOUR USERNAME HERE]/polaris.git/info/lfs.locksverify true
• Ensure you're on master branch
• Run: git lfs fetch origin master
• Run: git lfs push --all [name of your fork]

Background

This is happening because our shiny new integration tests use LFS for
the various test resources. This setup process should hopefully just be needed
the one time.

• Pierros will be helping us draft this proposal, and will submit it -- which will definitely help, as there are some bureaucratic requirements that LSF can fulfill.

Going over proposal text

• Discussion of:
  • Experiment goals
  • Time needed
  • Actions we can take with the satellite
  • Distinguishing "no effect observed" from "experiment failure"
  • How to best leave the door open for future experiments

Follow up work

• Hugh: Share doc with Pierros, review up 'til next Friday (submission deadline)
• Team: continue to work on proposal
• MajorCarrot : See if can do analysis of opssat with betsi, possibly using Red's notebook as a start

(Note: normally I'd take more detailed notes and add them to our records repo, but this was fairly focused on the text of the proposal itself.)

Just in case you missed the announcement in the main channel...We are happy to announce that Ayush Bansal has been accepted as out GSoC student this year.

It was a tough decision as we received many well written applications, but Ayush's stood out in terms of clarity in plan, understanding of the project and exceptional contributions in our repos!

We would have loved to take more students on but had limited number of slots available. We want you to know that we value the effort each of have you put in and strongly encourage you to stay in the community and continue contributing.

We are also grateful to LSF for giving us the support in obtaining a slot under their umbrella! Congrats to Ayush again. Here's to a great Google Summer of Code!
