@kesha:necker.iokesha Just so it doesn't seem random, my thoughts are:

1. If no VM manager maybe I can help deploy a Test Proxmox and set up some pipelines for you.
2. Maybe I can employ containers and automate the staging website
3. If Linode, Digital Ocean or similar are used I can help set up some Terraform scripts.

  1. Staging website is already automated on gitlab, it uses gitlab ci but with the gitlab.com runners - they are more than good enough for this

@cdesai:matrix.orgcdesaiI really appreciate you offering to help. In general more automation would be useful, it's just we aren't in a place where it'd be easy to accept an external infrastructure contribution given everything is internal.18:31:12
@cdesai:matrix.orgcdesaiFor calyxos the android side is all entirely open, everything is public - making doing anything there a lot easier.18:31:34
@kesha:necker.iokeshaRight on, worth a shot. Thanks for answering my questions.18:32:36

@gelbpunkt:matrix.orgAdrianHi there, I was wondering if there's some documentation on the OTA updater in Calyx and how to self-host the backend for it. With Lineage it's fairly easy and well-documented, but for Calyx I can only find https://gitlab.com/CalyxOS/release which does not really explain how to self-host the server 21:12:10

Hey, it's a plain web server
21:12:40
@telegram_260839324:calyx.devChirayu Desai (Telegram)Nginx, Apache Anything you like, all it does is serve files21:12:52

@gelbpunkt:matrix.orgAdrianSo the updater requests e.g. https://gitlab.com/CalyxOS/release/-/blob/main/FP4-factory and then downloads https://gitlab.com/CalyxOS/releases/-/blob/main/FP4-factory-24509000.zip.sha256sum (I guess the actual build is not hosted on GitLab :P)? Would it suffice to provide $DEVICE-factory the images + checksums themselves or do I need anything else 21:15:59

@gelbpunkt:matrix.orgAdrianNvm the factory part, I just saw ota_update is probably what I want21:16:53
@telegram_260839324:calyx.devChirayu Desai (Telegram)It would suffice.21:17:01
@gelbpunkt:matrix.orgAdrianCool, thanks! Will give it a shot, hope I get it right ^^ 21:18:07
