@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeil @Matthew In the interests of keeping Dendrite on life support and getting a critical bug fix out to users that fixes a metric ton of event auth issues, any chance that a small bit of time can be assigned to another Dendrite release? 10:32:25
@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeil The above fix is code I’ve been running on my own instance for a couple weeks now and it fixes a number of cases where Dendrite was mysteriously rejecting auth events for no good reason, reducing state resets and disappearing PLs etc, so it would be awesome to get that out for those still using Dendrite 10:33:58
@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewsure. ftr, the intention is very much to keep Dendrite alive10:35:06
@matthew:matrix.orgMattheweven if there is zero $dayjob manpower to do so currently10:35:26
@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewwill prod folks10:35:36
@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeilThanks, appreciate it! Also for sure, after all the work we put in I’m very keen to see it stay alive10:36:05

@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeilAlso posted a GMSL PR which backports a few more optimisations and fixes as well11:58:33
@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeil(will require a couple small changes to Dendrite though, since it changes a function signature)11:59:28

@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewah, harmony?16:09:18
@neilalexander:neilalexander.devNeilYep, I have never really gone to any lengths to advertise it but I have had various optimisations and fixes and things there for a while now16:09:28
@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewcool, well, thanks for backporting from it16:10:15
@matthew:matrix.orgMatthewand i wish i could find enough revenue to pay Element to work properly on Dendrite in the dayjob, but right now it’s just not there, hence having to operate best-effort instead.16:10:45
