damien.h | Hi there! Is there still some activity going on within Space Decentral ? | 17:49:38 |

neutronstar | They have moved to KeyBase, but I never did. Was active and participated in online meetings and all until they moved. Didn't have the energy to follow, life got in between...
But the idea was to build a 3D printer that would be deployed on the moon experimenting with how to build from moon regolith. | 16:44:10 |
damien.h | Thanks for the update. And I know about that thing, life, that can present desperately earthly obstacles to sustainable space activities involvement... | 20:41:44 |
damien.h | And OK I'll register on KeyBase, in order to keep uptodate :) | 20:42:54 |
neutronstar | If you get to it feel free to do a status update here, perhaps it might motivate me to go to KeyBase. | 20:45:22 |

damien.h | In reply to @neutronstar:matrix.org If you get to it feel free to do a status update here, perhaps it might motivate me to go to KeyBase. There does not seem to have been much activity nor update in the past month | 08:06:50 |
neutronstar | The downside of running ambitious projects in people's spare time... | 10:39:04 |
damien.h | well Space Decentral is not alone in the endeavour, the LibreSpace Foundation is another example, as well as our Federation Open Space Makers in France | 10:41:00 |
damien.h | at one moment we will make that possible! We humans have a huge cumulative amount of spare time :) | 10:41:28 |

neutronstar | True, the challenge is that it is hard to plan ahead since so much else get higher priority.
Perhaps we could get somewhere if all those initiatives focused on different areas. | 20:29:38 |

tuna443 | I just joined this following up on taking more of an interest in Ham radio and other opensource projects and noticed this one for "Space news" i was searching on.
Sounds interesting to send 3D printer to the moon. Saw something similar on a TV show to send one to mars and use it to build the first bases before humans arrive. | 20:13:41 |

neutronstar | Interesting but also challenging. One of the worst problems is probably moon dust. There were discussions to use electrostatic fields to fend the dust off, and quite recently I saw some space company having the same idea. | 11:21:38 |
